Cast and creatives

Adapted from Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel and the 2006 film featuring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, The Devil Wears Prada centers around Andy, a journalist who unexpectedly finds herself working at a fashion magazine. The musical boasts a score by Elton John (music) and Shaina Taub (lyrics), with a book penned by Kate Wetherhead. Jerry Mitchell, known for his work on Kinky Boots, directs and choreographs the production.

The creative team behind this theatrical spectacle includes Tim Hatley for set design (Life of Pi, Back to the Future), Gregg Barnes for costumes (Some Like It Hot, Legally Blonde), Bruno Poet for lighting (Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, Frankenstein), and Gareth Owen for sound (Come From Away, & Juliet). The casting is overseen by Jill Green CDG, the recipient of the 24th Annual WhatsOnStage Award.

The production will debut at the Theatre Royal Plymouth for a preliminary run starting on July 9, 2024. Following that, it will move to the West End and be staged at the Dominion Theatre from October 24, 2024. An exclusive gala event on December 1, 2024, in support of World AIDS Day and the Elton John AIDS Foundation, will raise funds and awareness.
