The highly acclaimed Mrs. Doubtfire musical has been a resounding success since its London debut in May 2023, and now it is set to continue its run at the Shaftesbury theatre until at least September 2024. This extension, prompted by the overwhelmingly positive reception from both critics and theatregoers, offers an extended opportunity for theatre enthusiasts to experience the captivating magic of Mrs. Doubtfire on stage.


Cast and creatives

In the stage adaptation of the iconic movie Mrs. Doubtfire, Gabriel Vick (known for his role in Avenue Q) takes on the character of Daniel Hillard, originally portrayed by Robin Williams. The ensemble also features Laura Tebbutt (from School of Rock) in the role of Miranda Hillard, Carla Dixon-Hernandez (known for Matilda the Musical) as Lydia Hillard, Cameron Blakely (from Newsies) as Frank Hillard, Marcus Collins (noted for Kinky Boots) as Andre, Samuel Edwards (of Anything Goes) as Stuart Dunmire, Ian Talbot OBE (renowned for Hairspray and as the Director of The Mousetrap) as Mr. Jolly, and Kelly Agbowu (credited for Sylvia) as Wanda Sellner.

The additional cast members also include Nicole Carlisle, Joshua Dever, Joseph Dockree, Rebecca Donnelly, Amy Everett, Maria Garrett, Kiera Haynes, Vicki Lee Taylor, Adam Lyons, Lisa Mathieson, Corey Mitchell, Ellie Mitchell, Matt Overfield, Rhys Owen, Christopher Parkinson, Micha Richardson, Tom Scanlon, Paulo Teixeira, and Samuel Wilson-Freeman. Furthermore, the role of Christopher Hillard is alternated between Max Bispham, Elliot Mugume, and Frankie Treadaway, while Scarlett Davies, Angelica-Pearl Scott, and Ava Posniak alternate in portraying the character of Natalie Hillard.

Mrs. Doubtfire musical features music and lyrics crafted by Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick, with the book penned by John O’Farrell and Karey Kirkpatrick. Steering the production is director Jerry Zaks (known for his work on Hello Dolly!). Joining forces with Jerry Zaks in the creative team, Lorin Latarro (renowned for Waitress) takes charge of choreography, while the scenic design is masterfully handled by David Korins (noted for Hamilton). The costumes are expertly designed by Catherine Zuber (celebrated for Moulin Rouge! The Musical), and the lighting design is skillfully executed by Philip S. Rosenberg (known for his work on Pretty Woman The Musical). Brian Ronan, celebrated for his contributions to Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, oversees sound design. Ethan Popp, recognized for his work on Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, takes charge of Music Supervision, Arrangements, and Orchestrations. David Brian Brown is responsible for hair design (noted for his work on Frozen), and Tommy Kurzman, acclaimed for The King and I, oversees makeup and prosthetics design. The casting is managed by Stuart Burt (renowned for Cabaret), with Verity Naughton as the Children’s Casting Director.
