The size of the Imperial Forums is impressive, The triumphal arches with their reliefs are well worth seeing - a seagull entertained us in the Colosseum - the dimensions of the arena, including the two-storey cellars, leave plenty of room for the imagination.

The museum was marvelous and eclectic. Many pieces of antiquities that sent my mind into a lovely imaginative adventure through the ages of ancient civilizations. The long halls were my favorite spots to walk through. They were enormous, detailed, and stunning to the human eyes. To cap the adventure through time, the Sistine Chapel was immaculant and there wasn't any issue getting inside and absorbing the 360 degree view of a grandiose representation of art and history. Some "Vital" tips for all future visitors; Buy your tickets early, have a hardy meal before entering the museum, download the map of the museum, and have an abundance of curiosity. There is absolutely no doubt, I shall return.

Express Guided Tour of Castel Sant’Angelo

Bucket-list things to do in Rome

There's no shortage of bucket-list experiences to be had in Rome. The old-world charm of several ruins, art, and architecture, tops the bucket list for globetrotters. From iconic landmarks like the Colosseum, and the Vatican Museums, to many world-renowned art galleries, travelers can find plenty to see and do in the Eternal City.
Some of the most popular experiences include touring the ancient ruins of the Colosseum, St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museum at the Vatican City, the Trevi Fountain, the Roman Pantheon, Galleria Borghese, the Arch of Constantine, St. Angelo Bridge, and Capuchin Crypt to name a few.

Offbeat things to do in Rome

There's more to Rome than just the Colosseum and Vatican City. Take a walk through Rome's Trastevere neighborhood for a taste of local life. This traditionally working-class area is now popular with tourists and expats but still retains its old-school charm.
Take a Roman Catacombs tour, a network of underground tunnels and burial chambers that were once used to bury the dead. Today, you can explore these spooky corridors and see the ancient frescoes that adorn them.
For a truly unique experience, head to the Capuchin Crypt, a small chapel decorated with the bones of 4,000 monks. This eerie attraction is not for the faint of heart!
Make a visit to the Cat Sanctuary of Rome, located in the Trastevere district. This sanctuary is home to more than 200 abandoned and stray cats where visitors are welcome to meet them.
Take a weekend getaway to the beautiful Island of Capri which is located off the coast of Rome. Visitors can take a ferry from Rome to the island, and then explore its many attractions, including the Blue Grotto, a natural sea cave that is illuminated by blue light.

Nightlife in Rome

There is no shortage of things to do at night in Rome. Whether you're looking for a lively bar scene, a romantic restaurant, or someplace to dance the night away, you'll find it all in Rome.
One popular spot for nightlife is Campo de Fiori, which is home to several bars and clubs. If you're looking for something a little more low-key, there are also plenty of wine bars and cafes scattered throughout the city. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, try your hand at one of Rome's many karaoke bars — the most happening ones are Scholars Lounge Irish Pub, Escopazzo, and BLACK - Hydro Bar.
If you're looking for something a little more off the beaten path, consider taking a night tour of the catacombs. This is a great way to see some of Rome's more hidden sights and get a taste of its dark history.

Shopping in Rome

Rome is filled with high-end boutiques, local shops, and world-famous department stores. You can find everything from the latest fashion trends to one-of-a-kind antiques.
One of the best places to start your shopping spree is Via Condotti. This fashionable street is home to some of the most luxurious brands in the world, including Prada, Gucci, and Dolce & Gabbana. For a more unique shopping experience, head to one of Rome's many flea markets around Via Sannio Flea Market, Borghetto Flaminio Market, or Mercato Trionfale. Here you'll find everything from handmade jewelry to vintage clothing.

Kid-friendly things to do in Rome

One of the most popular kid-friendly attractions in Rome is the Colosseum. This ancient amphitheater is a great place to learn about Roman history and get a glimpse of what life was like in ancient Rome. There are also plenty of kid-friendly museums in Rome, such as the Vatican Museum and the National Museum of Rome. These museums offer a great way to learn about art and history, and they're also perfect for rainy days.
If you're looking for something to do with the kids outdoors, head to one of Rome's many parks. Villa Borghese is a great option, and it's also home to the zoo and the botanical gardens. For something a little different, take the kids to see the Trevi Fountain or the Spanish Steps. And of course, no trip to Rome would be complete without a visit to the Vatican City. Here you can tour St. Peter's Basilica and see the Pope's weekly audience (if you're lucky!).

Budget things to do in Rome

For those looking for a more dynamic budget attraction, the Colosseum is a great option. Built in 80 AD, the Colosseum was once used for gladiator battles and public executions. Today, it's one of Rome's most popular tourist attractions.
If you're looking for a budget-friendly activity, consider taking a walking tour of Rome. With many free walking tours available, you can explore the city on a budget.
Trastevere is one of Rome's most charming neighborhoods. It's full of narrow cobblestone streets, quaint cafes, and beautiful fountains. And best of all, it's free to wander around and take in the sights. The Trevi Fountain is one of Rome's most iconic landmarks and it's completely free to view! Just be sure to throw a coin into the fountain to ensure that you'll return to Rome someday.
Piazza Navona is one of Rome's most beautiful squares. It's home to two amazing fountains, surrounded by historic buildings, and many quaint cafes from where you can sit and people watch.

Romantic things to do in Rome

Daily Budget in Rome

With a little planning and research, you can find the perfect balance between cost and comfort for your trip. Assuming you're staying in Rome for a week, your daily budget could look something like this:
On a low budget, you can expect to spend around €50 per day. This will cover accommodation in a basic hotel or hostel, food from budget restaurants and cafes, and local transportation. You may have to sacrifice some creature comforts, but it's certainly possible to enjoy Rome on a tight budget.
If you're willing to spend a little more, a medium budget of €100 per day should give you a comfortable experience. With this amount, you can stay in a nicer hotel or apartment, eat at mid-range restaurants, and take taxis or private transportation when needed. You'll still be able to enjoy all the sights and experiences that Rome has to offer without breaking the bank.
Of course, if money is no objection, you can easily spend much more than €100 per day. Luxury hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, and private tours and transportation can all add up quickly. But if you want the best of the best, be prepared to open your wallet wide.

There are many kinds of tours you can take from walking tours, guided tours, to bus and city tours. Here are the best picks of tours in Rome you must take:

Is Rome safe to visit?

Yes, Rome is a safe city for tourists. However, there are a few things that visitors need to be aware of. Pickpocketing is common in crowded areas, so it's important to keep an eye on your belongings. In addition, some areas of the city can be quite dangerous at night, so it's best to stay in well-lit and populated areas. Overall, as long as you use common sense and take precautions, you'll be fine exploring Rome.

Is Rome expensive?

No matter how you travel, whether it's on a shoestring budget or in the lap of luxury, everyone wants to know - Is Rome expensive? If you're willing to compromise on a few things, it is possible to travel relatively cheaply. But if you're looking to enjoy all that Rome has to offer, be prepared to spend a bit more.
Accommodation is one of the biggest expenses when traveling, and Rome is no different. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay, you can definitely find something to fit your budget - but it probably won't be in the heart of the city. Hostels and Airbnbs are always a good option for budget travelers, and there are plenty of them located just outside of Rome's city center.
Food is another big expense, but luckily there are plenty of ways to eat cheaply in Rome. Street food is everywhere, and it's usually very affordable. There are also tons of great pizzerias and trattorias all over the city that serve up delicious (and affordable) meals. Just be sure to stay away from the tourist traps - they'll definitely be more expensive.
Transportation is also something that can add up, but there are a few ways to save money here as well. If you're staying in Rome for a longer period of time, consider getting a Roma Pass - it provides unlimited transportation on buses and trains, as well as free entry to some of the city's museums and attractions. You can also buy tickets for the hop-on, hop-off bus which is a great way to see all of Rome's main sights without having to walk (or spend too much money).
