The Vatican Museums were a highlight of my trip to Italy this year. Exploring this extensive collection at the historic Vatican site is truly fascinating—featuring, for example, original works by Van Gogh, Chagall, Gauguin, Picasso, and the great painter Raphael, as well as Michelangelo’s frescoes. All of this is part of a unique collection that showcases wonderful ancient sculptures. A journey through the entire ancient world with valuable exhibits... There’s the original autographed jersey of Maradona and Pelé, Schumi’s Formula 1 steering wheel, the popes’ state carriages, and their “Papa-Mobiles.” You can also enjoy a cozy cup of coffee and a snack inside the well-maintained open-air restaurant. It was exhausting, but since I wasn’t in a rush, it was very enjoyable. There are benches and places to take a break everywhere. The highlight, of course, is the Sistine Chapel, the site of the secret papal election by the conclave, with Michelangelo’s magnificent paintings. I had purchased a ticket in advance through "HeadOut"; the admission and service were great, and it saved a lot of time since we were admitted immediately instead of having to wait in the usual long line. The museum offers an audio guide for 8 EUR that explains all the sights in a simple yet interesting way. Many rooms are air-conditioned, and you can send greetings to your loved ones directly from the Vatican Post Office. For me, it was a uniquely wonderful experience; including the great tour operator "headout," I can highly recommend it. Best regards, Micha

The crowds at the Vatican weren't too bad as we chose to start our visit at 4 pm or so. After about 2 hours, we were ready for a break and a snack. I was disappointed to find no tables with chairs at them; it was standing room only. It's not much of a break if you have to stand through it! Upon leaving the Vatican, we were approached by a taxi driver who asked if we wanted to engage him. We said yes and got in his taxi. To make a long story short, he overcharged us for the ride and, after I had given him a €50 note, he said I had only given him a €10. I was sure I had given him €50 to pay the €48 we owed. He said no, I had only given him a €10. Feeling rushed, flustered and tired after our time at the Vatican, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, only to later discover I had given him €50 and then another €20 and 3 - €10 Euro notes. Plus, I tipped him €5 Euros!! So in the end I had given him €105 Euros for an inflated taxi ride of €48. I felt like such an idiot, but in reality I had been intentionally scammed by a taxi driver, who targets patrons leaving the Vatican. Needless to say, this event left a very sour taste in my mouth regarding my Vatican visit.

We had an amazing fast-track experience in Rome with Headout while visiting the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and the Pantheon. Everything was extremely well organized from start to finish, and having guides help us through the entrances made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. We skipped the massive queues and got inside surprisingly fast, which gave us much more time to actually enjoy the places instead of waiting outside for hours. Inside the Vatican Museums, we explored incredible galleries filled with sculptures, paintings, and centuries of history before reaching the Sistine Chapel. Seeing Michelangelo’s famous ceiling in person was honestly breathtaking and completely different from seeing it in pictures. The atmosphere inside the chapel felt surreal and unforgettable. We also visited the Pantheon, which was another huge highlight of the day. The architecture, the enormous dome, and the history behind the building were genuinely impressive. Overall, the experience felt very premium, comfortable, and memorable, and the fast-track access with Headout made exploring these iconic places in Rome so much easier and more enjoyable.

One of the most memorable moments from our visit to the Colosseum was standing inside the massive arena and imagining the thousands of people who once filled the seats nearly 2,000 years ago. Seeing the size and complexity of the structure in person was far more impressive than any picture could capture. What stood out most was the contrast between the grandeur of the architecture and the reality of what took place there. As we looked across the ancient stone walls and underground chambers, we were reminded of the countless lives, stories, and historical events connected to this iconic landmark. It brought history to life in a way that books and documentaries never could. The experience left a lasting impression because it gave my daughter and myself a deeper appreciation for the ingenuity of ancient civilizations and the enduring impact of history. Standing in a place that has survived centuries of change made us reflect on the passage of time and the legacy people leave behind. It was both humbling and inspiring, making the Colosseum one of the most unforgettable stops on our trip to Rome.

The host is located near the skip-the-line entrance to the Vatican museums; the place has a vending machine with food and drinks, restrooms, and fans, so it was very pleasant. We walked for 5 minutes and got in the fast-track lines. Everything was very intuitive, even though we didn’t speak English very well. The staff used gestures that were very helpful in guiding us. The highlight of the tour was seeing the Sistine Chapel. You have to be quiet in there and photography is not allowed; there’s a dress code that’s taken very seriously. You might see people without appropriate attire in the museums, but in the Sistine Chapel they’re very strict. It makes you want to stay there for hours, but there are so many museums, with something for every taste. The corridor leading up to the Sistine Chapel is enormous, filled with artwork on the ceilings and walls. It also seems like the crowd gets bigger the closer you get, as you can see in the photo. Truly wonderful!

This is my first time visiting Rome. The whole group had bought tickets to the Vatican Museum in advance, but I hadn’t because I joined them later. I didn’t know what to do because we were all going to the same place, but I had to buy mine while waiting in a huge line in the sweltering heat. That’s when I saw Headout online and decided to buy a ticket right away. The experience was a godsend because I got lost, and the guy from the agency called me and very kindly told me where the place was. We didn’t have to wait in line—there were three people in charge of the group—and everything went off without a hitch. Honestly, they’re a lifesaver in moments of chaos and stress. Thanks for everything, Headout—especially for giving me a 10% discount to visit the Roman Colosseum. When I come back, I’ll have everything planned out with you guys. Thank you so much!

Today’s visit to the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill was one of those experiences that stays with you long after it ends. From the very first moments, I felt that I was standing in a truly extraordinary place—where history is not just something you read about in books, but something you can almost feel all around you. The Colosseum left me in awe with its scale and atmosphere. It is hard to believe that this magnificent structure was built nearly two thousand years ago and still inspires such admiration today. As I walked through the Roman Forum, I could easily imagine the daily lives of ancient Romans—their conversations, decisions, and the events that shaped the course of history. Palatine Hill, on the other hand, captivated me with its peaceful surroundings, beautiful greenery, and stunning views over the city. What I appreciated most was the opportunity to explore these remarkable sites at my own pace. Every corner revealed something fascinating, and every path led to a new discovery. This was far more than a typical tourist attraction; it felt like a journey through time that sparked my imagination and gave me a deeper appreciation of the ancient world. I left feeling inspired, with hundreds of photos and even more unforgettable memories. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Rome, whether you are passionate about history or simply enjoy discovering extraordinary places. It was worth every minute and has become one of the highlights of my trip
