The previews for David Byrne's American Utopia on Broadway began on 4th October. The show is set to run at the Hudson Theatre until 19th January, 2020 (now extended to 16th February, 2020).

Taking over Broadway, David Byrne's American Utopia makes quite an impression with a whopping $395,604 on its first weekend. Although the show positions itself somewhere between a musical and a concert, it has managed to charm the audience and has seen a 99% capacity crowd at The Hudson Theatre. Witness Byrne as he reunites with his previous collaborators from Here Lies Love - including director Alex Timbers and choreographer Annie-B Parson. Watch Byrne as he shares the spotlight with 11 of his talented ensemble members, who together perform several catchy like "Burning Down the House". Despite the success, the performance will be having a limited run until January 2020. After following more than 150 dates in 27 countries over nine months in 2018, the play will run on Broadway on a strict, limited engagement basis.
Based on Byrne's 7th studio album, American Utopia first released on March 9, 2018, and immediately rose to success with a shining number 3 on the Billboard charts. Byrne's hit single "Everybody's Coming to My House" was quite popular with the crowd, and it had him performing it during several of his shows across the world. While Byrne has been touring internationally ever since the album released, he has finally found a home with the Broadway production - which is said to be "the most ambitious and impressive live show of all time" which "blurs lines between poetry, theatre, music and dance".
