Stalls

The stalls section of Theatre Royal Drury Lane London is divided into a front and back section, split by a horizontal aisle that runs behind Row J. This gives extra legroom to Row K. Seats at the ends of rows have a slightly restricted view because the rows slightly curve around the stage. The front portion of the stalls section has great legroom. The royal circle overhang begins at Row L but it only affects those around Row U. The rear portion of this section cuts off the top of the stage. The best seats are in the middle of the section because it is a large stage and the view is best if you are sitting a little further back from it.

This level has a bar as well as washrooms for men and women. An adapted unisex bathroom is also available.

Royal circle

The royal circle has minimal obstructions. These are excellent seats. The section is divided into three blocks of seating by two aisles. This offers extra legroom throughout. A slight rake allows patrons to see above audience members better. Only the back rows of this section are slightly affected by the grand circle overhang, which begins almost immediately. There are no safety rails around the front of the balcony so the view is extremely clear.

This level is serviced by a bar that has seating. Men’s and Women’s toilets are available.

Grand circle

The grand circle is quite high and distant from the stage. The section may feel very steep but it helps in improving sight lines. It is divided into three wider sections with rows that curve around the stage. This curve may cause the ends of the rows, especially in the first four rows, to have a restricted side view. Safety rails feature at the bottom of each aisle. This may cause the seats behind to have a somewhat restricted view. The balcony overhang may cut off the top of the stage in Row E and back, affecting the full view of the stage. Despite the distance from the stage, the overall view of the stage and sound quality are good in this section.

The grand circle has a bar with seating and washrooms for men and women.

Balcony

The balcony can be an excellent section to watch large-scale musicals from. More so because they will give you a bang for your buck. The rake is very steep, giving a clear and unobstructed view of the whole stage but it may make the stage feel distant. There is no overhang so the sight lines are great. The mid-level section, too, has no obstructions. The first two rows, though, may get a restricted view because of safety rails. The centre of the balcony section may offer the best view in this section but those who require extra legroom should sit in the aisle seats.

This section has two bars and both have seating. Washrooms are available.
