The visitable rooms of the palace are in good condition, with adequate light to appreciate their cultural and historical value, with accessible arrangements along a well-structured route. The garden, due to the winter period I was in for the visit, did not have the proper appreciation that can usually be appreciated in spring/summer.

Wonderful place. Incredible works of art. Too bad the garden is leafless in winter. The sculptures in the gardens are covered. The fountains are empty. But it's still an incredible experience

Our guide was very good, she made the experience very enjoyable and super interesting, plus having the passport for the gardens and the trianon, made the experience even more complete and exciting. Although it would have been nice to have a guide also in the trianon part.

It is one of the most visited landmarks in Europe, pulling in almost 10 million visitors every year. If you’re planning a visit, here’s everything you need to know about visiting this iconic landmark, including all your Palace of Versailles tickets and tour options, best time to visit, getting there, and more.
There are a variety of ticket options available to interested guests, allowing you to visit based on your preference, interest, and availability. Choose from standard admission tickets, skip-the-line tickets, guided tours, passport entry, or combo tours.
All visitors are requested to make advance bookings before visiting the Versailles Palace. While booking, you will be asked to select an entry timing of your convenience from all the available time slots, which will ensure that there is no overcrowding at the gates.
With this Versailles ticket, you can access and explore all the major parts of the Castle, Carrosses Gallery, Park, and Gardens (except on show days). Your complimentary audio guide will demystify some of the most popular attractions as you explore highlights such as the Carrosses Gallery and Hall of Mirrors within Versailles.

With its extraordinary architecture, ornate interiors and elaborate gardens, the Palace of Versailles in France is an elaborate complex that attracts between 8 and 10 million visitors each year. Read on to find out what makes it one of the most popular attractions in France.

The Palace

The principal residence of French royalty, the Palace of Versailles was initially a hunting lodge commissioned for King Louis XIII. It was only in 1682 that King Louis XIII’s son King Louis XIV decided to move the political headquarters from Paris to Versailles. From incredible works of art to extraordinary architecture, there is much to see at Versailles. The palace is elaborate with 2,300 rooms and houses many attractions such as Grand Apartments, Hall of Mirrors, Royal Chapel, Royal Opera, and Congress Hall.

The Royal Apartments

Get a glimpse into the King’s Royal Apartments, and admire the ensemble of 7 rooms with their architecture, art and sculpture. Enjoy art pieces, furniture and tapestries that pay homage to Greek and Roman mythology. With persian carpets and brocade curtains, bask yourself in the luxury of these rooms as you navigate this exclusive area. Move to the Queen’s Royal Apartments, perhaps the most luxurious room in the apartment complex. Also tour the library, salon and even a dining room

The Gardens

Spanning over 230 acres, the Palace of Versailles Gardens are as elaborate as the palace itself. With more than 50 fountains, 620 water jets, hundreds of sculptures, 200,000 trees and 210,000 flowers, it is indeed a sight to behold. Designed by André Le Nôtre, these colossal gardens offer a splendid sight.

The Royal Stables

The Royal Stables or the Coach Gallery house the Great and Small stables. The monument is a testimony to the importance of horses during the rule of the French monarchy. Explore a fine collection of historic carriages, sleds, carriages and harnesses used in the bygone eras of France including ones made for Marie-Antoinette's children.

The Park

Covering over 800 acres, The Park is a lush extended green space that surrounds the Versailles Palace. Enjoy a tranquil walk through the greenery and come across sites like Lake of the Swiss Guard and the Grand Canal. Additionally, this is one of the zones that you can access for free within the property.

Fountain Shows

During the months from April to October, the gardens of Versailles are lit up with musical fountain shows. An incredible combination of music and fountain displays, these shows are not to be missed. Watching the waters come alive as they groove to the rhythm of Baroque style music is a very unique experience.

Estate of Trianon

Also known as Marie Antoinette's estate and home to the Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon palaces, the Estate of Trianon is a more intimate complex located near the main palace. Queen Marie-Antoinette spent a substantial amount of time here. Complete with carefully landscaped gardens, rustic cottages and beautiful facades, the Estate of Trianon is truly worth visiting.
