About The Theater

The Australian Bee Gees conduct their performances in Vegas at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino, in the Thunder from Down Under Showroom, and have been doing so since February 2011. Although the band travel all around the world and have performed in over 50 countries, the Excalibur has been their home for the past seven years and they recently completed 2,000 shows at this venue.

Excalibur Hotel & Casino

The Excalibur Hotel & Casino opened in 1990; and with over 4000 rooms, is currently the seventh-largest hotel in Vegas and eleventh-largest worldwide! The name, Excalibur, interestingly enough, is actually the name of King Arthur’s legendary sword. And true to its name, the hotel uses the medieval theme in several ways, most noticeably in its very facade, which looks like a castle. Since 2005, the hotel has been owned and operated by MGM Resorts International.

The Thunder from Down Under Showroom has a capacity of 400 seats. The following guide will help you determine which seats you should get, in order to make the most out of your experience.

VIP Seating: The best section in the theatre is the VIP section, with 80 seats, located in close proximity to the stage. The seats are split across 8 tables, and are perfect for those who would like a closer look at the show. The seats here, give you the best possible view of the stage and all the action that’s happening on it. However, this also means that they are the most expensive seats in the theatre.

Preferred Seating: The Preferred Seating zone is the largest zone in the theater. The seats in this section are arranged in such a way that they provide both frontal and peripheral views of the stage, so if you have any preference, you are free to choose.

Reserved Seating: The final section in this theatre and also the furthest away (and hence has the cheapest tickets). This section allows people who are on a strict budget to enjoy the show, without sacrificing a good view.

Which Seats Offer the Best View?

Without a doubt, the seats in the VIP Section offer the best views of the stage and the show in general, however, you must keep in mind that these are also the most expensive. If you have an extra bit of money and are looking to have a great time, look no further than these sections. On the other hand, if you’re looking to spend a little less and still enjoy a good view, the Preferred Seating is for you, specifically, Tables 21-24.

Which Seats/Sections Offer the Best Value for Money?

Before purchasing tickets, you must keep in mind that this is a relatively smaller theatre and that the seating is done in the form of tables, so there is no seat which offers a bad view, per se. This definitely does not mean that all seats offer great views, but none are so bad that you would miss parts of the show.

The Reserved Seating, although the cheapest, offers decent seats from which you can get a pretty clear view of the stage. The section which offers the best value for money, would be the Preferred Seating, as it is not as expensive as the VIP Zone, and at the same time, it doesn’t compromise too much on the view of the stage as well.
