Why You Shouldn’t Miss This
Atlantis is a fictional island that fell out of favour with the deities, resulting in it being submerged in the Atlantic Ocean. Themed after this mythical city, the Lost Chambers Aquarium is exemplary in its execution.
Explore the spectacular underwater mazes and tunnels, while you encounter marine life from piranhas to seahorses, eels, and sharks. Over 20 impressive exhibits of marine life exist, including the Ambassador Lagoon, which features an unobscured view of aquatic life.
The Ambassador Lagoon, which houses hundreds of species of fish and marine animals can be viewed through a 70 cm thick panel. It is 10 metres in height and offers astonishing views of the Lagoon, with its huge monoliths at the centre and other stone structures.
The Lost Chambers Aquarium is made up of more than ten chambers and 21 exhibits, with the goal of creating a whole new world. With over 65,000 different marine creatures living in these waters, you can see a wide variety of rays, seahorses, sharks and even a couple of albino alligators, one of the rarest species in the world. Over 250 species of fish can be seen swimming in these waters and makes for an atmosphere unlike any. With interactive touch screens at your fingertips, you can learn more about each species. The aquarium is one of the finest examples of merging technology into museums and exhibits, allowing a seamless experience.
Snorkeling and diving adventures are also available, albeit at your own cost. Submerged in the water with the marine life is a wonderful feeling, and provides the perfect vantage point. A unique experience is the Hatha Yoga session surrounded by the aquatic life. It is not included in the ticket but is a must-try for fitness lovers and first-timers alike.
