Pro tips to help you make a pick

Upgrade to fast-track or SKY tickets. Skip 30–45 min queues during peak hours. Fast-track gets you to level 124 in ~15 min; SKY adds lounge access. Worth it on weekends or Nov–Mar.

Visit 45 min before sunset. Get daylight views, sunset over the Gulf, and the city lit up at night in one visit. Book tickets 1 hour before sunset for best timing.

Use the AR telescopes. AR viewers on levels 124–125 identify landmarks in real time. Interactive screens show old Dubai photos over today’s skyline. Audio guides are free.

Dine at At.mosphere for express access. Reservations include priority elevators and window seating. Lunch or afternoon tea also gives access to the observation decks after your meal.

Go to levels 152–154 to avoid crowds. Only ~50 guests per hour, with lounge seating, canapés, bubbly, and an outdoor terrace. Pricier, but calm and uncrowded.

Check visibility, not just weather. Nov–Mar has the clearest views. Summer haze reduces visibility. AQI 0–50 is best; 100+ means hazy views.

Know child rules in advance. Kids under 12 need supervision. Level 125 terrace has a 120cm height rule. Bring snacks or gum to help with ear pressure.

Did you know?

Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, creates its own microclimate, with temperatures at the top being up to 7 degrees Celsius cooler than at the ground. The Burj Khalifa uses 946,000 liters of water daily, enough to fill 20 Olympic swimming pools. The building's cooling system waste heat provides completely free water heating.

Believe it or not, the Burj Khalifa's exterior is covered in over 26,000 glass panels, which are cleaned by a team of professional window washers who use 36 km of rope to descend from the top. The reinforced steel bars laid end to end would stretch 2,909 kilometers: a quarter of the way around Earth or from Dubai to Tehran.

The building's spire at the top is not just for show - it acts as a lightning rod and prevents the building from being struck by lightning. During construction, concrete was poured continuously for 36 hours to create the foundation, the largest continuous concrete pour ever recorded. The pour used 12,500 cubic meters of concrete mixed with ice to prevent cracking.

The elevator inside Burj Khalifa holds the record for the longest non-stop journey, taking visitors from the ground floor to the observation deck on the 148th floor in just 1 minute and 22 seconds. The building's spire contains a mosque on level 158, the world's highest mosque at 621 meters. It accommodates 900 worshippers and points toward Mecca with astronomical precision.

The Burj Khalifa features an exquisite art collection in its residential lobby, including works by renowned artists such as Jaume Plensa and Olafur Eliasson.Exterior cleaning takes three months using 36 workers. They clean 24,348 windows covering 120,000 square meters, the length of 17 football fields of glass hanging 828 meters up.

Why visit Burj Khalifa?

Stand at the World's Highest Observation Deck Open to the Public

Level 148 (555 meters) and Level 152 (585 meters) are the highest observation decks accessible without special clearance. From 585 meters, you see 95 kilometers in every direction on clear days, the distance from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. The Earth's curvature becomes visible. Dubai Marina's 80+ skyscrapers look like toy blocks. Level 148 or 152 access provides a view that no other public building on Earth can match.

Ride the World's Fastest Elevator System

The Burj Khalifa's Otis elevators travel at 10 meters per second (36 kilometers per hour). You cover 504 meters in 60 seconds—the ground floor to the roof of One World Trade Center in one minute. A LED display shows your floor count climbing: 20...40...60...80...100...124. The pressurization system adjusts so smoothly you barely feel the speed, yet you're ascending faster than most cars drive in city traffic. Each elevator carries 14 people and uses regenerative braking to feed electricity back into the building.

See Engineering That Defied Physics

The Burj Khalifa's Y-shaped floor plan reduces wind loads by 25% compared to a rectangular tower, allowing the building to reach 828 meters without dangerous swaying. The concrete pumping system lifted concrete 606 meters vertically—the previous record was 449 meters. The exterior has 26,000 hand-cut glass panels that reflect UV rays to keep interiors cool despite 50°C summer heat. Each design choice solved problems no architect had faced before.

Dine at the World's Highest Restaurant and Lounges

At.mosphere restaurant on level 122 (442 meters) holds the Guinness World Record for highest restaurant from ground level. Floor-to-ceiling windows surround every table. The three-course lunch includes wine pairing; breakfast features Truffle Crêpes and Eggs Your Way; afternoon tea serves finger sandwiches, scones, and patisseries on fine china. The SKY lounge on level 148 (555 meters) serves complimentary Arabic coffee, dates, and soft drinks. Level 152 lounge (585 meters) offers gourmet canapés from Armani Hotel, desserts, and a welcome glass of bubbly.

See Dubai's Complete Geography in One 360° View

From the observation decks, Dubai's geography spreads below. Northeast: the old city and Dubai Creek where the emirate started as a fishing village. East: the Arabian Desert stretching to Oman's Hajar Mountains. West: Dubai Marina and JBR Beach. South: the 12-lane Sheikh Zayed Road. North: the Palm Jumeirah jutting into the Persian Gulf. You can see Sharjah 25 kilometers away and Abu Dhabi's skyscrapers 140 kilometers south on clear days. Interactive telescopes and AR displays identify over 50 landmarks.

Burj khalifa is very beautiful, but the aquarium is a simple corridor, is beautiful too but the Atlantis aquarium is more complete. I would consider only Burj Khalifa and in the correct time, since in the sunset gets crowded. We got to see a little bit of the sunset going 5pm so we didn't get almost any lines. If you really want to go to the aquarium it's ok, but not 5 stars. The access to Burj Khalifa is easy too if you already know it's inside the mall, but our uber tried to get by the residences and guests entrance, make sure to mark Dubai mall.

An absolute must-visit for families in Dubai! Stepping into The Green Planet from the desert heat feels like entering a completely different world. My kid was thrilled to see the sloths up close and have colorful birds flying right over our heads. The spiraling walkway around the massive indoor tree makes it so easy to explore all four levels. The staff was incredibly friendly and educated the kids on the animals. Highly recommend booking your tickets in advance online to skip the lines! Special thanks to Headout and team for give amazing experience on ticket booking with special discount.

The Museum of the Future: The exterior architecture is incredible. Inside, it’s less of a traditional museum focused on history and more of an interactive immersion into science fiction (space station sets, futuristic visions, design). It’s very conceptual and visual. The Dubai Frame: The concept is incredibly well-executed. From a height of 150 meters on a glass-bottomed walkway, you get the perfect contrast: old Dubai on one side and modern skyscrapers on the other.

If you and your children love dinosaurs 🦕 and you want to see lots of large animals sculpture from flowers this is for you. My recommendation is to arrive half an hour before sunset to see it in daylight then wait and see it all with the lights on. My two kids loved the interactive dinosaurs and all the sights and sounds. This is definitely worth a visit young and old. Its not expensive and its a family attraction you can enjoy together. I used Headout for this trip, for IMG and Burj Khalifa and it was cheap, easy to book and store your tickets on your phone and was so easy to use and everything worked perfectly. Use Headout to book all your Dubai adventures. I would definitely use them again.
