I am disappointed in this excursion. We were promised a skip-the-line with about 8 people at the top of Vesuvius with guided tour by a volcanologist in Angel. We just hiked up to the top with our van of 25 people each at our own pace. There was no "line" to skip at the top. There was also no guide to give us the tour in English. There were guides just standing around and we were told to wait and see if any more people wanted an English-speaking guide because they didn't want to do it for the 2 of us. Really a letdown. Then we continued by van to Herculaneum. Apparently the promised audio guide was something we had to download ourselves on our cell phone. I don't carry earbuds so it was very inconvenient to walk around that way. Also, the system locked up after the introduction and I didn't get on it with my cell phone after that. I want to use my cell phone to take pictures and not as an audio guide. So there was a very bad connection with 4G + the battery of my cell phone would never have been enough either should I have been able to receive the audio guide via my cell phone.

Impersonal tour. Felt herded as so busy. The ai tour of Herculaneum was unimpressive so we ended up going round u guided. Didn't have long enough to truly see the site. Had no clue how long the climb at Vesuvius would be. Regret booking via this agent which was in fact through Around Vesuvius.
