This was overall a great experience and something I have wanted to do for years. Had a problem with my tickets. Had bought 2 x adults and 2 x youth tickets but on arrival was told that we had to pay more as no longer European! (We are still European ... just not in the EU, slight difference). A little frustrating as wasn't aware this would be an issue. Aside from this "blip" it was fantastic to see the city.

There were many fascinating things to see, e.g. the grand piazzas and the domus of all the historical people who lived there. Following the Via dell'Abbondanza was really like following in the footsteps of all those who thrived there, giving room for imagination.

Quick and easy purchase of tickets to many sites and programs, plus it's paper free. We visited the archeological site of Herculaneum, a real gem near Neaples where we reconnected with the ancient ages of Italy. If you don't have that much time to go to Pompei, Herculanum is just for you.

The audio guide is very good, but it is advisable to have a physical map of the archaeological site.

The tickets arrived by watts app the day before and were easily scanned by the ticket people at the gate.
Can't fault the ticket team but I would add that there is only one toilet on whole of volcano in the first ship before you go up so please use bathroom before arriving!
It's a steep climb wear proper shoes, have warm clothes and takes 30-50 minutes to climb up

Superb visit.
The Herculum site is very different from Pompeii. Much smaller, but you can get inside almost any house.
Taking the audioguide is a real plus, I recommend it.
We spent just under 3 hours seeing all the houses.

The palace I found it wonderful just as I remembered it, the pardo definitely improved and enhanced is wonderful, the only thing if I were you I would call someone to have the fish in the tanks taken care of because it's not nice to see you sick and it's not just my thought but of many visitors that while I was taking pictures I could hear them talking.
