Getting started

You make your own way to the Mleiha desert meeting point, as hotel pickup and drop-off are not included. After check-in, you are assigned your Polaris or Can-Am self-drive dune buggy in the 2 or 4-seater configuration you selected at booking.

The experience begins with a 20-minute safety briefing that covers buggy controls, driving technique on sand, and route guidelines. You then set off on a 1-hour self-drive dune buggy tour across the Mleiha desert, following the lead of your guide toward key rock formations.

• Take the wheel of a Polaris or Can-Am self-drive dune buggy, choosing between a Can-Am two-seater, Can-Am four-seater, or Polaris four-seater self-drive dune buggy, as per your selected option.

• Navigate sand tracks and dunes on a guided 1-hour self-drive dune buggy tour, with the total tour duration kept to one hour maximum, excluding the 20-minute safety briefing.

• Pause at Fossil Rock and Camel Rock for photo stops, with time to step out and capture the rock formations and desert landscape.

Museum visit

What to expect

After the drive, your experience continues back at Mleiha, where you can deepen your understanding of the region’s natural and human history. The museum visit adds context to the landscapes you have just driven through.
