About the Empire State Building

Empire State Building NYC is the most photographed building in the world, with around 3.5 million visitors a year. It stood as the world’s tallest building for about 40 years, until after the construction of the Twin Towers. The building was constructed for the purpose of being the tallest building in the world during 1920’s. This is the time when New York’s economy was booming.

Eventually, the plan was to give out the spaces for rent to offices, however, due to the great depression it was a financial failure until the year 1950. It is now a very popular tourist attraction and is one of New York City’s most iconic buildings.

Main Deck: The 86th Floor

This floor offers you the chance to see New York from the city’s highest observation deck. Take in 360 degree views of the concrete jungle with views of the Central Park, the Statue of Liberty along with the Hudson and East rivers. For clearer and more focussed views, you can make use of the high powered binoculars.

Top Deck: The 102nd Floor

Although, a closed observatory, the thrill of going till the 102nd floor is going in a manually operated elevator and getting the chance to get views beyond the city. On a clear day, you will be able to get views of neighbouring states like Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

When your tummy rumbles

The building has a bunch of options where you can get your fill. When the tummy calls, you can visit the State Grill & Bar which offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you are in the mood for more familiar food, there are fast food joints like Starbucks, Chipotle & the Heartland Brewery. All these joints are located at the building’s main lobby level.
