When compared to the other musicals on the west end, wicked isn’t the best (in my opinion). I think the stage lacked the element of mystery. To be honest, the stage is where all the magic happens. Especially for a musical such as Wicked, you’d expect the stage to be more giving, more magical. The music also was just fine. I didn’t like the storyline to be honest. Just average. I still don’t get what all the big fuss is all about. The 1st part is alright, thankfully post-intermission picks up a little. The ending is definitely really good. But when compared to other musicals in London, it doesn’t live up to the hype.
What a twist on the Wizard of Oz! Loved it. Many thanks to Headout for giving me a deal I couldn’t refuse. Wasn’t that interested in musicals, but this one got me in love and now I am definitely looking forward to attending Aladdin and Lion King as well.
A major let down. This show is just not in the same league as Matilda or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I had high expectations from this but it just wasn't my cup of tea
