The Colosseum, Forum, and Palatine Hill are incredible places to visit. These are monuments that are not to be missed. My partner and I really enjoyed ourselves and were pleasantly surprised by how peaceful the Palatine Hill was. We even wondered how this was possible, given that it is a historic monument in the heart of the capital. As for the Pantheon 🏛️, we enjoyed it, it's still a monument worth discovering, but we were a little disappointed because we expected to see more, as it's "only one room" to visit, especially since the combo ticket wasn't particularly good value, as the price is €5 per person and we paid €10 per person. We found it expensive for what it actually was.

I received the tickets and the audio guide booklet by email the day before. The instructions were very clear. The visits went smoothly. No waiting. Please note that you need to allow a little time for visiting the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. There is a lot to see at the site. In winter, it closes at 4:30 p.m. We weren't able to see everything...

The tourist office is quite a distance from the Pantheon. You need to take this into account in your schedule. We were there 15 minutes before the entrance (as instructed), but unfortunately the tickets had not been printed. We ended up in a queue. When it was our turn, it took a long time for the lady to figure out the system, which was freezing, and the printer, which wasn't printing. We ran to the Pantheon to make it on time. We had about two minutes to get there.

I had to go to a physical store to print the tickets without being told before purchasing them. Furthermore, at the store, I had to re-enter all the information I had entered during the purchase, which significantly lengthened the process. In addition, I had to pay for a ticket for a 6-month-old baby.

Even though wasn't clear that this tour wasn't with in person tour guide what was delivered was audio link. The audio was good and delivered the message. But we had no chance to questions.
  • This budget-friendly combo lets you leisurely explore two of Rome’s iconic landmarks—Castel Sant’Angelo with timed entry, and the Pantheon with an audio guide.

    Getting started

At Castel Sant’Angelo, begin your visit at the main entrance on Lungotevere Castello 50. Show your ticket at the main ticket office, then head inside to start exploring. At the Pantheon, arrive at Piazza della Rotonda to redeem your tickets.

    What to expect

    Castel Sant'Angelo

Step into the museum to climb the spiral ramps and enter the Chamber of Ashes where once cremated remains of Roman emperors rested. As you enter the papal rooms, admire the frescoes of Emperor Hadrian and Archangel Michael adorning the ceilings. Descending from the upper levels into the lower interiors, you can access the prisons that held famous figures like Benvenuto Cellini.

    Features

One of the significant features of the museum are the two statues of Archangel Michael, the original marble piece placed in Cortile dell’Angelo, and a bronze statue placed on the terrace. You can enjoy a panoramic view of Rome and the Tiber river from the terrace too.

    Pantheon

The facade of the Pantheon is a Corinthian portico, a classic example of ancient Roman architecture, featuring 16 towering granite columns that lead into the vast rotunda beyond. Enter the rotunda to admire the largest unreinforced dome in the world—a symbol of heaven with an oculus (a circular opening) letting light in.

    Features

The Pantheon, also known as Basilica di Santa Maria ad Martyres, was converted into a church in 608 AD. Since then it also hosts active religious service. Inside the rotunda, you can see the tombs of Italian icons like Raphael and King Vittorio Emanuele II, Italy’s first king. Above Raphael’s tomb is the statue of Madonna del Sasso. As you walk around, you can access the side chapels, including the Annunciation, marking the Pantheon’s Christian identity.
