Our Archeologist Theresa was a very enthusiastic tourguide with lots of interesting historic details and background stories - very knowledgeable and a top storyteller bringing you ever so close to the fatal day in October 79 that submerged Pompeii- with new facts based on the latest insights brought to light by the still ongoing excavations that Theresa is working on as well as an archeologist, she is so well informed that - with a little imagination - you get the feeling that you are guided around by an eyewitness of the fatal event ...

The tour was both entertaining and very informative. Unfortunately, we’ve forgotten the lady’s name (slender, short blonde hair, husky voice), but she was truly wonderful! She didn’t just show us the well-known highlights; she also shared stories and brief anecdotes. Afterward, she gave us some recommendations for exploring Pompeii. Very well done! My wife and I booked this tour as part of our 50th Anniversary trip through Italy. For this event we took the train from Sorrento to Pompeii (easy and inexpensive) and we all met together at the Tour office, which is on the 2nd floor of the train station where you arrive in Pompeii - so easy. Next, we met the tour guide and received our instructions and listening devices and walked a short distance to the entry gate. We went right through a dedicated gate (truly jumped the line) and into the site. Our guide took us on a very interesting and fact filled trek through Pompeii that ultimately finished with the most fascinating sights and restorations you could imagine. Pompeii is huge and attempting to self guide would undoubtedly be an impossible task... There's just too much to see and much is repetitive if you walk around trying to figure it out yourself! Using the Headout App and Landmarks Tours was a truly simple and enjoyable experience for me an my wife.

Guide Rafael's explanations were very interesting and engaging (in Spanish). To really get the most out of the visit, having a guide is a definite plus. Just by listening to their explanations, you realize how much you’d miss out on if you went exploring on your own without the knowledge they have. The only thing that bothered me was the arguing among the agency staff before the tour started. I just can’t get used to that way people in Naples talk to each other.

Thank you for a wonderful guided tour in the unique Pompeii. Our knowledgeable guide led our group through the ruins with the theme of a typical day in the life of a resident during Roman times. The perspective was fascinating, and through it we saw not only the ruins, but above all a vivid glimpse of the city and its inhabitants before it was buried under ash and lava.
