It is very easy to get there from Naples (Garibaldi), and very fast too, only 3 stops in about 40 minutes. The entrance to Pompeii is in front of the station, but we met the guide a little further on, at the next entrance. Rafael was great. He gave a lot of interesting information in a very pleasant way. The visit was very short thanks to Rafael, even though it lasted more than 2 hours. When he said goodbye he gave us tips on things to see and how to get back to the exit near the station. In addition, everything was perfectly audible thanks to the devices they give, that also counts, because you can attend to the explanations without having to stick to the guide or hear all the noise of other visitors. Totally recommended!

We loved our visit to Pompeii, largely thanks to our guide, Nello, who is an archaeologist. His guidance really made all the difference: without him, we probably wouldn't have enjoyed discovering the site as much, as there are very few explanations on site. Of course, there is an app, but we didn't use it as we were lucky enough to have a guide. And frankly, interacting directly with someone, asking questions and getting lively explanations is much more rewarding than following an app. We highly recommend taking the tour with a guide: it makes the experience incomparable and much more captivating!

The staff was very responsive via whatsapp to modify our 10:30am visit. Our train was 1h15 late. The visit was therefore postponed until 4pm. The French-speaking archaeologist gave us lots of details during the 2 hours we didn't see pass. However, it was sometimes difficult to understand her, not least because of her rapid speech rate and pronounced Italian accent. Furthermore, a guided tour ending at 6pm is too late. In fact, although it's possible to stay in the city streets until 7:15pm, the buildings you can enter close at 6pm, and unfortunately these seemed to us to be the most fascinating.

The visit did not last 2 hours, but we started at 16:20 and although most of the things closed at 18:00 the guide did not extend the visit that remaining time to 2 hours visiting what was still open, but at 18:00 directly ended the visit. He did not tell us about the Villa de Los Misterios, the Casa de Menandro....we saw interesting things but we could have visited some more important houses. The guide was reluctantly telling things, it was his last tour and he seemed to be looking forward to finish. We saw the amphitheater and theater on our own. A bit disappointing. There was another tour in English at the same time that started well and ended later. Although it gave very interesting facts, I don't recommend it, really. I think the audio guide can tell you the same thing. That point of knowledge that you expect from an archaeologist, curiosities and so on that you are surely looking for with this tour, if you get the same guide as us, it will not compensate you for the price and almost half an hour less.... take the audio guide and see Pompeii on your own...sure you will get more out of it.

The tour was fantastic and provided an excellent overview of Pompeii in only two hours. The site is so large that it would have been impossible to discover all of it without the helpful tips of our wonderful tour guide, Rafaella. She was funny, highly knowledgeable and spoke excellent english so her tour was easy to follow. She shared many fascinating insights and even gave us great recommendations on what to explore further after the tour to make the most out of our visit to the incredible archological site of pompeii.

My guide started walking before I got my headset. Then she was so far ahead I couldn't hear her. At the same time we were in a crowded area. Another woman in the group lost her husband because we couldn't see her and she didn't slow down or count her group (not until she'd lost the husband). Our tour started 1/2 hour late but finished on time...hmmmm. The group that started before us finished after us and saw a couple of additional sites. Very disappointing.

The guide was very good in explaining everything to us. She made the visit very fascinating and interesting. It was a pleasure to follow her even though it was quite hot and a lot of people around the park. We brought a 3-year-old, who was able to follow almost everything without getting bored, it was hard to walk with the stroller in some places but it was a hit also because the guide came to us with focused advice and directions.
