We arrived to Naples by cruise ship and booked our Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii day trip about a month in advance. It was AMAZING! The pick up location was easy to get to by metro from the cruise terminal. From there, we hopped on a very comfortable mini bus to Pompeii. The tour includes an audioguide but you have the opportunity to upgrade to a live guide. We prefer exploring on our own and found the audioguide perfect for our needs. We were given 3 hours to explore Pompeii and then hopped on a coach bus to travel to Vesuvius. The hike up was steep but well worth the phenomenal views. Overall, I was very impressed with the organization of Around Vesuvio tour company. They made sure every passenger was accounted for every time we changed locations. We arrived back in Naples with 3 hours to return to the port. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I have enough time to visit Mount Vesuvius & Herculaneum. Each activities have around 2 to 3 hours to visit, it completes at 3 p.m. something. No lunch breaks, so better to bring your own food or snacks. No need to worry about transportation when you travel. I do not join to visit Pompeii in the day trip, so the driver picks up us after visiting the Herculaneum and we go back to the city of Naples. It is better to advise us before visit so that I know that I will be travelled by another car.

Our trip to Pompeii & Vesuvius was excellent. Our guide Mike was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had in Pompeii. The travelling between sights was very efficient. You get an overview of Pompeii in this time, rather than visiting all of it. I would thoroughly recommend this tour company again.

Great tour. Everything was seamless moving around and we had a good amount of time at Vesuvius and Pompei. Only negative (and a word of warning for cruisers), we got back an hour later than scheduled. A few more minutes and we'd have missed our ship. Otherwise highly recommended.

So helpful to have transport between the sites. It was a little chaotically organised but it worked. Disappointingly there was no time for lunch or coffee breaks, or to visit gift shop at Pompei. I would recommend taking lunch and drinks with you. The tour guide provided at Pompei was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The pompei tour was a little rushed and I didn't feel I had time to look round the museum part properly. The guided tour only does a very small part of the site. Be prepared for a lot of walking on rough ground. If I were to do the tour again, I would miss off Herculaneum. The three site visit was too much for one day.

It was a full day, we visited Pompei, Mount Vezuvius and Herculaneo. We had a guided tour only în Pompei, we saw the important points, but there are still more to see... For the rest, we decided to discover by ourself, was perfect. For the timeing, nothing bad to say, was ok, everything according to schedule.

It was nice that the transportation was organized and we were able to get from one place to another easily. We had enough time at each location. Unfortunately, our tour started on a sour note because the meeting point descriptions caused confusion. The meeting point names, two to three Google Maps locations (inaccurate), and a marked image of the meeting point in the directions were imprecise and inconsistent. Although all on the same street, they were not clearly defined. When we asked the organizer where we were, we were answered rudely and brusquely. No understanding was shown for an explanation. Next, we visited Pompeii first and then Mount Vesuvius. According to the description, this was understood differently. We didn’t notice any fast-track entry at Mount Vesuvius, or rather, no distinction was apparent. We went through the entrance quickly, just like everyone else. Finally, there was no volcanological guide as described. We explored the crater ourselves.

The shuttle service connecting Naples to the two sites of Vesuvius and Herculaneum is very convenient. The guides accompanying us were very dedicated and should be identified by a name tag However, some aspects of the reservation were not as agreed: the group was supposed to be a maximum of 16 people, but the group was not identified. At Vesuvius, there was no volcanologist guide. At Herculaneum, we were asked to use a guide on our phones. The reference numbers did not correspond to any on-site signage. We did not receive a site map. For both visits, the time spent on site was too short.
