We loved our visit to the monastery. The ticketing process through Headout was easy. And, when we had a glitch with sharing the audioguide, the number to call worked perfectly. The person on the phone got the audioguide to connect to both our phones.

I bought the ticket with the audio guide but the venue said they have no audio guides ever. I would like that part of my ticket refunded because I paid for an audio guide.

The audio guide is not very well indicated, it's not easy to locate the places, it's difficult to find your way around the interior, at the end we did the tour and went looking for the explanations of each room.

Tickets were really easy to obtain and use. Loved the monestary and church - but would have made sense to allow those who visited the monestary to go straight into the church rather than having to queue again.

I bought 2 "experiences" for the Hyéronimites monastery, each consisting of an entrance ticket and an audio guide. Only one of us was able to access the audio on her phone, the other was unable to do so either directly with wifi or by installing the app on either phone (Iphone and Smartphone). The monument itself is magnificent, but not having the audio guide available was disappointing.

What to bring

It's recommended to cover your shoulders and wear comfortable walking shoes.
Please carry your earphones for the best audio experience.
During the summer months, it is recommended to bring hats/caps to protect from the sun, and water for hydration due to high temperatures.

What's not allowed

You need an Android (version 5.0+) or iOS smartphone for the audio tour at the monastery. It won't work on Windows Phones, older iPhones/iPads/iPods.
Strict dress code: Please note that off-shoulder tops, dresses, and knee-high shorts are not recommended.
Keep in mind food & beverages and large bags or backpacks are not allowed on this experience.
Visitors are not allowed to take photographs in some parts of the monastery.

Accessibility

There is medium accessibility for guests with reduced mobility.
The lower level has wheelchair access though some sections are cobblestoned.

Additional information

Digital audio guide is available in English, French, German, or Spanish.
Entry to the church is free for residents of Portugal on Sundays and public holidays.
With disability proof, you can avail up to 60% off on entry.
The Jerónimos Monastery remains closed on Monday, 1st January, Easter Sunday, 1st May, and 25th December.
The Monastery is closed between 9:30am and 1pm on October 24th and December 5th.
