The panoramic views from the castle were awesome and the walk around the castle grounds and levels brought it to life.
There was a kiosk selling drinks and tasty snacks; we had sardines on toast and Portuguese egg tarts with our morning coffee, taking in the views over the castle walls.
I would recommend buying tickets in advance and arriving early, at 9am, before the crowds arrive & queues develop down the slopes.

We arrived early and cue was ridiculously long with over an hour wait. We ordered tickets and audio online and within 5 minutes received everything on phone allowing us to bypass the cue and walk right in. The site has a great view, nice museum and it was awesome to explore the castle. This was the highlight of our short stay in Lisbon!

I enjoyed the historical buildings, stone work and exploring the castle. It was not easy to follow the audio tour. Would recommend either exploring without it or taking the guided tour.
