I visited with my mother at the end of October. The place is beautiful and special, and we got gorgeous photos with the view of Lisbon in the background. Please note: it's not recommended for wheelchair users—it is practically impossible to get around.

I recommend buying a combo ticket to visit Pena Palace to take advantage of the discount, for example combined with the Moorish Castle or Quinta da Regaleira. The garden is very beautiful, especially because it's set up high—a relaxing walk in nature with great views. Walking along the castle walls is thrilling (not great if you're afraid of heights). It's definitely an experience worth trying. (I recommend bringing a sweatshirt or something warm to wear, as it can be windy and chilly in the shade)

Moorish Castle was absolutely amazing! I'm always blown away by the way they built complicated buildings without the technology that we have now! Prepare to climb up and down stairs. I believe we ended up with more than 20,000 steps the day we visited Sintra including the Moorish castle, Pena Palace and National Palace of Sintra. Mind blown!! 🤯

Had a great time and enjoyed the castle. Was easy to order. If I had a criticism it took about an hour for the tickets to come through from the time we ordered them, our group felt that was a bit long for an online order. Usually tickets are immediately sent when ordered on line. Otherwise was a good experience.

No waiting in line, beautiful view of the entire city :) You can explore the whole castle and all of its towers. Unfortunately, the museum was closed due to renovations.
