It was fun to go in a group of just 8, plus driver, in a people carrier. The driver was very informative, and guided us round the castle so we enjoyed the best possible views. He then took us to a port shop in the village, where the owner gave us an very interesting talk. After that we had time out, which allowed us to time for lunch as a nearby cafe, before driving back to Lisbon, again with lots of information about Portuguese history etc.

Ricardo was a very great guide....but there was no line to buy tickets, which we could've easily done by ourselves, in hindsight. The castle is totally worth seeing...amazing views over the city! Lots of peacocks live there as a bonus!

This one hour tour of the castle and grounds was packed with interesting information. I wish it could have been longer! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and an excellent storyteller- he researched brought the history to life.

We were able to easily order the tickets, but we had to wait 45 minutes to receive them. The good thing is that once purchased, they’re valid for a long time, so we were able to reschedule our visit for another day.

The price is way too high for an old ruin. The restrooms are terrible; women sometimes have to wait in line for 15 minutes for a restroom experience that’s five times better at any highway rest stop in Germany. Overall, a disappointment. A tourist rip-off. Despite the high admission fees, there are potholes in the paths, tripping hazards, toilet flushes that don’t work, and a lack of toilet paper or paper towels.

Tour guide Joa was great! Very informative! There was confusion on who our guide was supposed to be, & they didn't show up, so even though it was late he stepped in! I recommend getting a tour of the impressive historical castle, as you wouldn't know what you were seeing or the history. Amazing views overlooking the city & the river.
