This is a great building, inside and out. Full of light. Great variety of exhibits. We enjoyed the First Nations exhibit, in fact my husband stayed in there for the whole of our visit. Informative and moving. The Melbourne history gallery was fascinating.as as the Wonderous Planet. As we only had a couple of hours, we never made it to the Vikings but we have plenty of those in the UK. Importantly for a Brit the café makes a good cup of tea!! ILoved the small outdoor rainforest .too.

After planning 3 hours at the Melbourne Mueum we both felt we could have given it longer. Mind you, we did spend at least 1 1/2 hours in the First People display which was fantastic. Would definitely recommend it to others. Families will also enjoy the amount of interactive displays and a great dinosaur display. Although I did hear one very disappointed little person "But I wanted to see them alive!" I'm glad they weren't!

Melbourne Museum is such a delightful place to visit. Easy to get to, easy access when you arrive and well set out displays. My country grandkids were enthralled for hours with all sections of the museum. As was l ! So much variety,in well curated sections, to satisfy young (and old) curious minds . My only criticism would be the cost of the very poor food in the cafe. We had planned to eat elsewhere but everyone wanted more time exploring so we had no other option but to use the cafe. We had a fabulous family outing at the Melbourne Museum.
