As a part of her Golden Jubilee, Her Majesty the Queen visits the Dudley Goring Comprehensive School for the opening of a new Science block. What will happen when the Queen finds herself locked in a Portaloo with the school's republican Head of Science?
Everyone at the Dudley Goring Comprehensive School is eagerly waiting for Her Majesty the Queen to open up a new Science block. Well, almost everyone. Meet Derek Jones - the school's Head of Science, an unreconstructed socialist, and a staunch republican. In a moment of madness, he decides to use the Portaloo installed for the Queen's personal use. And who catches him in the act but the Queen Herself? Embarrassment quickly turns to confusion and fear as they realize they have been trapped inside the Portaloo by terrorists with a bomb underneath. Any attempt to leave will set off the explosives. Can Derek and the Queen find common ground, as well as a way out?
The royally funny, smart, irreverent comedy comes from John Goldsmith and is directed by Anthony Biggs. Charlie Condou (Coronation Street), Mary Roscoe (Ted Lasso) form the leading cast, accompanied by Michael Joel Bartelle.
