Rosamund Pike takes the West End by storm in this limited-run legal drama, Inter Alia, where a high-flying judge and a family crisis collide.

    • Inter Alia reunites film star Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, Saltburn) with writer Suzie Miller and BAFTA-winning director Justin Martin in a razor-sharp play about motherhood and justice.

    • With sold-out runs at the National Theatre, this "brilliantly tense and emotive" (The Independent) drama is from the team behind Prima Facie.

    • Expect themes of power, gender, legal system and family life, that invite you to question, reflect and watch as Jessica juggles court and home.

    • Don't miss this compelling West End transfer at Wyndham's Theatre, playing for a limited run. Book your tickets to Inter Alia in London now!

    The story

In Inter Alia, you meet Jessica Parks, a sharp, no-nonsense Crown Court Judge who believes deeply in fairness and the law, even as she tries to balance motherhood, friendship and the elusive notion of “having it all”. But when her teenage son is accused of a grave offence, that neat professional world collides with personal life and the very values she upholds. With her career and family both on the line, Jessica must ask: how far will she go to protect the ones she loves, and what will she sacrifice in the process?

The show starts out heavy metal, calms a bunch t and pulls you in for an absolute sucker punch. Wanted to both scream and cry. An excellent and important message to us all about the difference between morality and legality. A must see. perfect casting.

Brilliantly written, forced everyone in the audience to ask questions of themselves about their responsibilities towards others, and Rosamund Pike is electric: wonderful to see her in person in this lovely theatre. I was on a jury recently where we were asked to judge between two very young first lovers who had made terrible mistakes in their relationship and all of us were wrung out by compassion for both of them. We ended up deciding not guilty beyond reasonable doubt on two of the three charges against the boy but could not agree on the third. The judge (a woman) gave us more sessions to come to a verdict but in the end we remained split. We were dismissed and the case never went back to trial. I'm impressed by how penetratingly the author, cast and production got beyond audience's first responses to the suffering that occurs around sexual assault, for all concerned, including those asked to dispense justice, man or woman.
