  • The critically acclaimed play, Good Night, Oscar, starring Emmy and Tony Award-winner Sean Hayes of Will and Grace fame, makes its way to London’s Barbican Theatre for a limited seven-week summer season. Set in 1958, the play centers around Levant’s unforgettable appearance on Jack Paar’s late-night talk show, offering a poignant exploration of celebrity, genius, and what it means to be a human in the spotlight. This production, directed by Lisa Peterson (An Iliad, The Waves) with the added genius of Doug Wright's (I Am My Own Wife) Pulitzer Prize-winning writing, guarantees a screenplay that is both intellectually fascinating and profoundly emotional.

Hailed as a "towering comedy" (Theatermania) and "a revelation" (Chicago Tribune), this production has been met with universal praise from critics and audiences alike. Whether you’re a longtime theatre fan or someone looking for a unique and compelling night out, Good Night, Oscar is a must-see.

I would say that Sean Hayes and the other cast members exceeded my expectations but they didn't because I knew they would kill it just like they did! They wove a gut wrenching yet beautiful story around one man's mental health challenges that is a tale as old as time, and I was engrossed for every minute. And as for Sean Hayes's piano concerto...well, my mind was blown! Wow!🤩

The performance! Also one young man on your staff was extra kind - I didn't know where to go for an uber after the show or what street it was and he helped immensely. Your gift shop staff wouldn't stay open even 3 minutes past closing to let us look or make purchases which is your loss. What a shame. Why have a shop if it's closed when audience members have time to look? Before shows is always rushed.

Amazing acting, very emotional Sean Hayes performance with smooth changes of character from present to past. I like the staging and settings- like scene changes- for different parts of the play . The virtuosity of one actor performing on the piano and acting the main role is unbelievable!
