An exquisite ballet presentation by eight principal dancers from some of Russia’s top dance schools and companies, Stars of Russian Ballet features timeless classics such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, and Giselle. Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake is a four-act ballet that follows the story of Prince Siegfried and his undying love for a cursed swan princess named Odette. The Nutcracker is another beloved classic that tells the tale of an innocent young girl named Marie and her battle with the evil Mouse King. From the Nutcracker and his army of toy soldiers in act 1 to the magical ‘Land of Sweets’ in act 2, The Nutcracker has remained an all-time favorite.
This production features an array of Russia’s greatest ballet dancers. 2011 Golden Mask winner Ekaterina Kondaurova will take on several chief roles in the pieces being presented. She will be joined by Vladislav Lantratov, the ‘Prix Benois de la Danse’ Award-winning principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet. The young Maria Khoreva, a rising star and first soloist for the Mariinsky Ballet, will also feature in this program.
