We’re a couple from the UK, and we visited the Melbourne Skydeck at about 1:30 pm on a clear day. The lift is absurd—88 floors in 38 seconds—and suddenly you’re looking down at the whole city. The views were superb in the early afternoon light: the Yarra, the MCG, and the bay in the distance. Inside the observation deck, it was surprisingly quiet compared to the street noise below—no trams, no traffic, just a calm hush. Then you step out onto the outdoor viewing platform and see all that noise happening far below, almost silently. The city becomes a distant hum, and the contrast is striking. We also did the VR theatre. We expected a gimmick, but it was genuinely enjoyable—a fun 11-minute whizz over Victoria. At around $33 each, it’s not cheap, but for UK visitors wanting a proper sense of Melbourne, it was worth it. Book online, go on a clear day, and make time for the outdoor viewing platform. It’s the bit we kept talking about afterwards.

We had a fantastic experience at Melbourne Skydeck! We arrived before sunset and stayed until it got dark, which was absolutely worth it. Watching the sunset over Melbourne, with its modern high-rise buildings and the beautiful Yarra River, was amazing. As night fell, the city lights created an incredible view. The panoramic scenery was stunning, and it was a memorable experience for the whole family. Definitely a must-visit attraction in Melbourne. Highly recommended!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at the Melbourne Skydeck Edge last week! From the moment we arrived, everything was well organised and the staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional. The views of Melbourne from the Skydeck were simply breathtaking, but stepping out onto the Edge took the experience to another level. Standing in the glass cube suspended high above the city was both thrilling and unforgettable. It was exciting, slightly nerve-wracking, and definitely something we’ll remember for a long time! The experience was well managed, making us feel safe while still giving us that incredible sense of adventure. The views, atmosphere, and overall service were excellent. My visit to Melbourne Skydeck with Headout was a memorable experience from start to finish. What made the visit special was the incredible panoramic view of Melbourne from such a high vantage point. Seeing the city skyline, Yarra River and surrounding areas from above was breathtaking, especially around sunset when the city began to light up. The experience was also smooth and convenient through Headout, making it easy to access the attraction without any unnecessary hassle. It was a very lovely experience. I loved how everything looked from the top. The buildings, the lights, the stadium, flinders street station etc. I even saw people playing tennis near the stadium through the binoculars. Edge experience was great too, a pinch of excitement and nervousness.

Experience the sheer exhilaration of zipping all the way up to the 88th floor of Melbourne’s magnificent Eureka Tower. Considered to be the world’s tallest residential skyscraper, the tower has been an imposing structure in the Southbank precinct of Melbourne since its completion on 1 June 2006. From your unique vantage point at a height of 300 meters, you will be able to see Albert Park Lake, the Dandenong Ranges, Port Phillip Bay, the MCG, Federation Square, and much more. There are about 30 viewfinders installed on the Skydeck to assist you in spotting these great landmarks in Melbourne.

Elevate your experience with some adventure

The Thrill Seeker experience includes the Edge and Voyager Theatre experiences. The latter is a VR experience where you take a seat in one of the 24 award-winning reality ‘pod’ chairs and embark on a 360-cinematic journey through 16 Melbourne experiences. Choose the MAX VR Experience to combine entry to the Skydeck with the Voyager Theatre.

The Edge is easily accessible by wheelchair & children 7 yrs or under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Additional information

Guests 12 years and under must be accompanied by parents or guardians. The recommended age for VR experiences is 8 years.

The Edge is a giant glass box in the shape of a cube that can carry up to 12 passengers at a time.

The 'Edge Master' will oversee your entry into the cube and time spent inside (approximately five minutes).

Please note that booking the Edge experience does not guarantee express entry to the Edge experience. The Edge cannot be booked for a specific time.

The Edge is on a first come first served basis and customers are given an electronic pager to be placed in a virtual queue to await their ride (wait times vary depending on the time of year).

For general Melbourne Skydeck viewing allow up to 45 minutes.

Ultimate Skydeck package allow 2 hours.

VR Experience package allow 1.5 hours.

Edge Experience package allow 1.5 hours.

Bar 88 is located on the Skydeck and offers a range of cocktails, fine wines, coffee or soft drink and a range of gourmet pastries including pies, pasties and sausage rolls are also available.
