Gatehouse Entrance (Hidas Gate, Kaputorony)
Located on the north side of the castle, this entrance is reached via the iconic stone bridge over the City Park lake. It’s the most picturesque way to enter and perfect for first-time visitors and photographers. The courtyard and ground level are wheelchair accessible, but the Gatehouse Tower itself is only accessible by climbing 65 steps, no elevator is available.
Museum Entrance (Baroque Wing)
Found on the east side of the castle, facing Heroes’ Square and adjacent to the Anonymus statue, this entrance is ideal for purchasing tickets, picking up audio guides, and joining the Apostles’ Tower tour. It offers step-free access to the main museum hall and ground-floor galleries, making it suitable for visitors with mobility needs. Upper floors and towers are accessible only by stairs.

Audio guides are available via a free smartphone app. Download in advance for a richer museum experience.
Souvenir shop
A souvenir shop is located in the museum lobby, offering local crafts, books, and farm-themed gifts.
Dining outlets
Dining outlets include Café Városliget, just east of the castle, serving coffee, snacks, and Hungarian dishes.
Toilets
Toilets are available inside the museum on the ground floor. Additional public restrooms are near Heroes’ Square in the park.
Paid parking
Paid underground parking is available at Museum Mélygarázs (Dózsa György Rd), about 8–10 minutes’ walk from the castle.
Wheelchair accessible
The castle grounds and main museum halls are wheelchair accessible via ramps. Upper floors and towers are not accessible.
Strollers allowed
Strollers are allowed in the castle grounds and ground-floor museum areas. Strollers cannot be taken up the towers.
