Immerse Yourself in Art at Accademia Gallery
See, admire, and learn about the priceless collection of paintings, sculptures, and musical instruments housed at one of the most visited museums of Florence. Along with David, the gallery has the largest number of Michalangelo’s works. Other prominent specimens include works of some of Italy’s greatest artists such as Giotto, Bernardo Daddi, and Lorenzo Monaco.
Walking Tour to Discover the Gems of Florence
Start your discovery from the Medici district where you can see the monuments significant to the powerful Florentine family, including the palaces where they once lived. Just a few steps away is the famous Duomo complex, where you can see the cathedral with the Brunelleschi Dome and the stately Giotto Bell Tower.
Walk through the medieval district where Dante, and his inspiration Beatrice, once lived. Along the way, you will see the imposing Orsanmichele Church, which welcomes visitors with its traditional Gothic allure. Continue your exploration through the picturesque Straw Market; remember to rub the nose of the “Little Pig” at the wild boar fountain for good luck.
Find yourself in Piazza Signoria, an open-air museum and one of the world’s most beautiful squares. It hosts several monuments including the Fountain of Neptune, sculptures like the “Perseus", and Palazzo Vecchio. The walking tour ends at the Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s oldest bridge lined with several jewelry shops. If you have so opted, take a break for a delicious Tuscan lunch in the old town before visiting the Uffizi Gallery.
Visit One of the World’s Oldest Art Museums
Wander through the precious exhibition halls of Uffizi Gallery to discover works from Italian greats like Botticelli, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci. Artworks not to miss out on include Botticelli’s ‘Primavera’ and ‘Birth of Venus’.
Your experience ends at the Uffizi Terrace, providing striking views of Florence’s most iconic monuments. After the tour, you can stay back at the museum to explore on your own.
