- All visitors must pass through airport-style security, and wait times at security can exceed 30 minutes.

- Tickets must be collected at Vicolo del Farinone 23, Rome. From Ottaviano metro station (Line A), walk along Via Ottaviano towards Piazza Risorgimento, turn right onto Via di Porta Angelica, enter Piazza San Pietro, then take the first left into Vicolo del Farinone; number 23 is on the left.
- Children aged 0 to 6 years enter free of charge.
- Disabled visitors with valid ID and a disability card showing over 74% disability can enter freely.
- From January 12 to March 31, maintenance work in the Sistine Chapel will result in scaffolding covering the entire wall.
- On January 3 and 9, 2026, the Sistine Chapel closes at 2:00pm (last entry at 1:00pm); on January 10, 2026, it closes at 12:00pm (last entry at 11:00am).
- Animals and pets are allowed, and public transportation is available nearby.
