All My Sons
Why WatchAll My Sons
The story is one that encompasses a large spectrum of human emotion; from guilt and greed to love and companionship. It is a heart-wrenching tale of how one man’s blinding ambition leads to his undoing. Director Jeremy Herrin does an absolutely marvelous job of bringing this production to life on stage. Bill Pullman plays the overzealous Joe Keller who supplies fighter planes of the Second World War with defective engines, which led to the deaths of innocent pilots. Overwhelmed by promises of money and power, he forgoes his morality and does the unthinkable. The play is anchored by the powerful performances from Pullman and Sally Field, who portrays the distraught wife.
Joe Keller is an ambitious businessman who will stop at nothing to reach the upper echelons of the corporate world. In this race to the top, he does the unthinkable and jeopardizes the fate of innocent pilots. As it is revealed that his own son might have been among those who paid the price of his dastardly deed, he is confronted with the grim consequences of his actions. His wife breaks down completely, unable to come to terms with the loss of her son. The confrontations that follow unravel a deeper story, one that is filled with lies and deceit, and also the unveiling of an even more shameful family secret.
