From purchasing the tickets to picking them up, everything went smoothly. Pompeii: how can you even describe it? Big—no, massive, impressive, and harrowing considering the fates of those who lived there! You have to see it for yourself and take the time to really let it sink in. Still, I would like to mention one drawback. We were recommended a shuttle in connection with the villa district; the young woman even marked the area on the map. But that area is visited on foot, which made us a bit suspicious. Back at our parking spot, we looked into it and discovered that the shuttle was actually going to Villa Regina, located outside the site in Boscoreale. That was completely useless as it was never communicated to us, what a shame!

Friendly & professional tour guide. Very knowledgeable. I've been before and the experience is so much better with a guide as they can direct you and explain the highlights (as opposed to wandering around with a guide book!). Only downside is that we were late starting due to some Amercicans who arrived late!

Having studied history and Pompeii specifically, it was finally wonderful to see it in real life to actually understand what Pompeii was like, and to see how close it is to Vesuvius. The archeological work and preservation is impressive.

Good morning Our apologies for the dlight delay in contacting you refarding our guided tour of Pompeii. Overall it was very good; informative, fun and led by a knowledgeable guide. I do however have one area of concern my impression was that the tour party was supposed to be under 20. Indeed your booking portal states both under 20 and under 15. Our tour had just over 30. This number although not overly restrictive caused problems in seeing in detail what the guide was showing us particularly in the houses tight areas etc. At least one member of the tour questioned this with the guide also i do not know what her response was. I would welcome your comments on the excess numbers thank you

We booked these tour s initially because it was the only way to get tickets in advance but we are so glad the we did. Our tours of Herculaneum and Pompeii were conducted by hugely knowledgeable historians, at least one of whom had led a team that scraped the ash and washed the shards. They managed to turn a two hour walk through a derelict site into a living working city and we will preserve those memories. Worth every Euro.

With the online tickets at 9:00 AM, we bypassed the queue and made it onto the grounds beautifully before the big rush. The self-guided tour at our own pace through the site impressed us very much! We marveled at the highly developed construction methods of the Romans and the way of life as it must have been around 79 AD. We got an idea of what the catastrophe surrounding the eruption of Mount Vesuvius must have meant for the people living there back then, and we were fascinated by how the ash preserved everything for posterity, like in a time capsule!

Our trip to Pompeii was one of the coolest trips we've ever taken. It was incredible to see how people lived back then and how much of it is still preserved. You can't miss this! Unfortunately, the booked audio guide didn't work. For one thing, the internet connection is very poor, and for another, the link was not valid. This is very annoying since we paid extra for it.

Fabulous visit, very interesting. Wasn't sure how to access the audio tour, thankfully saw someone else do it in front of us. Audio was very useful as the in person guided tours although informative but very long. We would have liked better instructions on how to access the audio tour and instructions on entry. But otherwise worth every penny

The tour went well. However, from the train station, I had to walk almost a kilometer to get to my assigned entrance. Also, the audio guide didn't work well, and it was hard to properly detect the audio clips linked to the various points of interest.

Easy admission, but I have trouble walking... there is an elevator to go back down, but it's not signposted... luckily, a guide who knew the place accompanied me there... No explanations in French!!! It's a shame!

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: No discourteous clothing or shirtless attire is allowed inside Pompeii Archaeological Park.

Big dogs (above the weight 10kg and the height of 40cm) are not allowed into the venue. Guide dogs with the proper certification are welcome.

Accessibility

Pompeii has uneven ground and limited wheelchair access. Use the south-side entrances instead of the main one.

Choose safety and comfort: This experience is not the best fit for people with impaired mobility and cardiac issues.

Tickets to the ruins are free of charge for disabled people and a companion, to be purchased directly on-site.
