The tour was amazing. Well organized from meeting point all the way through to the end. Our guide Grace was absolute amazing. The information and knowledge of the different sites was amazing. The explanations and stories of each site was fascinating. We really enjoyed our tour and we would highly recommend it. This is the best way to see the main sites in Pompei with a great tour guide. I visited the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, and I have to say it was an indescribable experience. I didn’t expect such a vast and well-preserved city; it really feels like stepping back in time 2,000 years. Walking through the original streets, entering the houses, the baths, and the Forum is something that leaves you speechless. You can sense the daily life of the Romans in every detail, from the frescoes and mosaics to the inscriptions on the walls. The site is enormous, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes and setting aside at least 4–5 hours. I found everything very well organized, with clear maps and extremely kind and helpful staff. The most moving moment was seeing the casts of the victims and the Amphitheater. It’s an experience I recommend to everyone—Italians and foreigners alike—at least once in a lifetime. A heritage site unlike any other in the world. I’ll definitely be back to see the newly reopened domus!

A truly moving experience. A huge site, friendly staff. The restaurant staff, however, were a little less friendly; given the number of customers, they spoke to guests in a rather cold manner without ever smiling.

What to bring

Carry your earphones for an immersive audio guide experience. If you are given a physical audio guide, ensure you arrive prepared with wired earphones (3.5mm jack).

A moderate amount of walking is involved in this activity. Please wear comfortable shoes due to uneven terrain.

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: No discourteous clothing or shirtless attire is allowed inside Pompeii Archaeological Park.

Big dogs (above the weight 10kg and the height of 40cm) are not allowed into the venue. Guide dogs with the proper certification are welcome.

Accessibility

Pompeii has uneven ground and limited wheelchair access. Use the south-side entrances instead of the main one.

Choose safety and comfort: This experience is not the best fit for people with impaired mobility and cardiac issues.

Tickets to the ruins are free of charge for disabled people and a companion, to be purchased directly on-site.

Additional information

Facilities: cloakroom, luggage storage. Head to the Superiore Entrance to make use of the onsite luggage facilities.

The fee for the excavation sites of Pompeii is free for all first Sundays of the month.

Children under 18 enjoy free entry with a valid ID.

If you’re an EU citizen aged 18-24, you can avail the ticket at €2.

The same discount applies if you’re a non-EU citizen with a valid Italian residence permit (for study, work, family reasons, etc., as recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
