Why You Shouldn’t Miss This
The Borghese Gallery is the perfect place for art lovers to get up close and personal with major works from brilliant artists like Caravaggio, Raphael, Bernini, Titian, Canova, Correggio, and Rubens. With a focus on ancient Roman, Renaissance, and Baroque art, the museum is a living collection of world-renowned masterpieces from the fifteenth to eighteenth century.
Originally assembled by Cardinal Scipione Borghese, nephew of Pope Paul V, the collections are housed in a magnificent 17th-century villa. A work of art itself, the interior of the villa is beautifully adorned with frescoes, bas-reliefs, decorated ceilings, marble floors, and impressive columns. Inside, view incredible paintings like David with the Head of Goliath and Boy with a Basket of Fruit by Caravaggio, The Deposition by Raphael, and Melissa by Dosso Dossi. Next, browse stunning sculptures including Bernini’s Apollo and Daphne and David and Canova’s Pauline Bonaparte as Venus Victrix. Afterward, take a walk through the villa’s magical gardens - a favorite spot among locals. One of the city’s most important museums, the Borghese Gallery offers visitors the perfect immersive art experience.
Upon arriving at the Borghese Gallery, head directly to the priority access entrance and skip the long ticket lines. One of the best things about the Borghese Gallery is that because of the attraction’s unique timed reservation system, crowds are always kept to a minimum - meaning you can enjoy one of Europe’s most fascinating museums without an overwhelming number of other visitors. As with all Borghese tickets, you will have 2 hours to tour the museum’s 20 rooms.
After exploring the museum, make your way to the Borghese Gardens, located outside Villa Borghese. Walk around at your leisure before heading to the top of Pincian Hill for breathtaking views of the city.

Skipped the line waiting outside with the pre-booked ticket. Something satisfying about not waiting.
Unless you’re a fan of old school art there’s nothing much to it. Good building though.
This was my second visit to the Borghese Gallery and such a wonderful one this time around. My son had suggested I book my tickets in advance through this app and I did just that. I could choose my time slot and had a smooth experience at the gallery.
