  • In this landmark production, John Ransom Phillips deconstructs Mary Todd Lincoln's life in a remarkably intense play that explores her inner turmoil. Directed by Bronagh Lagan, known for sensitive storytelling in Cruise, the Art Pond Foundation's Mrs. President challenges how women have been omitted from political history. Catch the multilayered production that invites audiences to witness a first lady's battle against sexism, grief, and public scrutiny in 19th-century America.

    The story

Fighting to define herself beyond the shadows of her assassinated husband, Mary Todd Lincoln navigates a treacherous landscape of grief, power, and identity. In an attempt to reinvent her image and redefine public opinion, she decides to collaborate with the celebrity photographer who shot President Lincoln to fame.
