The performance was very well acted and choreographed and performed! However, we were seated in the very back upper row, and had difficulty understanding a lot of the words. It also was possibly a pronunciation difference between American English and British English! We still really enjoyed the show!

Amazing musical, thoroughly enjoyed, well worth the watch. Only downside, there was strobe lighting and I went with someone with photosensitive epilepsy, and there was no signs anywhere saying there was any sort of flashing lights, thankfully the person I went with was fine.

The ticketing was easy. The actors were very good, and the show entertaining. The only issue was the seating, which was partly obscured however, even though I picked seats that showed they were not partly obscured. Little kids had problems seeing the show, so they stood up a lot, and some got bored and chatted.

Matilda is a magical story by Roald Dahl that highlights a person’s fight for what they believe in and what they desire. The play delves even deeper into these themes due to the writing of Dennis Kelly and the direction of Matthew Warchus. The lyrics add a sense of mischief and light-hearted glee to the musical and only make the experience of watching it richer. The story

The story tells the life of a young girl, Matilda. The musical begins with her birth and moves on to describe her unhappy upbringing as she lives with her TV-addicted family and bears their constant abuse. She is an intelligent child who loves reading even though her family believes that it is a complete waste of one’s time. Due to the abuse she faces Matilda often plays pranks on people aided by her telekinetic powers. Matilda even plays pranks on her school’s headmistress, Mrs Trunchbull whom she believes to be a bully. Soon, she develops a strong friendship with her teacher Miss Honey, who admires Matilda’s intellect and almost magical abilities.
