Archeological area was very interesting, we spent a lot of time there and were very much impressed with this place. However, I was dissapointed with the fact, that even though I bought tickets (vouchers) via internet in advance, I had to wait in the queue to exchange my vouchers for tickets. I do not see any difference for people who were waiting in the queue to buy their tickets and those (like me) who already bought in advance and had to wait the same time standin in the line to the ticket office. Disappointed.

Upon arrival at the front desk, we were immediately helped by a staff member. He exchanged our voucher for an entrance ticket + a nice info book in Dutch. The employee was friendly. At the entrance the ticket still had to be validated. Had to queue briefly for this. We arrived at 9 am and 15 minutes later we could start the visit. Very nice trip. Absolutely recommended. Go as early as possible to avoid crowds. During the afternoon it is very hot there. Make sure you have drinks with you. There is a small shop with soft drinks and sandwiches at the "gladiator site" behind the theater. Fairly expensive but very tasty sandwiches. If the weather is involved you can expect occasional brief showers. There is no shelter anywhere. Make sure you have good shoes because it is a long walk if you want to see everything (+-10 km)

Pompeii offered an unforgettable experience and spectacle. Despite the high number of visitors, admission is very flexible. There is drinking water in several places in the area, so the heat was not a problem. We were enriched with a wonderful historical sight.

The truth is that it went great. Despite being August there was no queue and to pick up the audio guide was super easy and very close to the entrance. Even the parking next to the entrance and 2 € per hour. Super good. Highly recommended

First place to pick up the ticket without any problems, then arrival at the entrance to Pompeii, tickets not accepted, no queue cutter, I had to queue a very long time to pick up the official tickets.
