The tour was on time. We received a warm welcome at the meeting point (though it was a shame the assistant spoke very little Italian). The guide was very friendly; the app was helpful during the tour (though it was a shame the guide conducted the tour in English). All in all, a very positive experience.

We thought we had just purchased 'skip the line' tickets. We were told the rules had changed and everyone had to be on a guided tour. There was no queue for giving your name to get your ticket - just two people trying to deal with multiple requests and people pushing in etc. The guided tour lasted about 25 minutes - and we had to join the queue to get in - so not 'skip the queue'! The guide was good, but there was no opportunity to wander or view anything at leisure after the tour. You would have had to pay extra to go to the first floor. The queue itself was not that long at 10.30am on a Tuesday morning and we waited about 10 minutes to get in.

Skipping the line was really helpful, and our guide Barbara was knowledgeable and friendly, but unfortunately the tour was conducted only in English, so we Italians had to rely on the audio guide, which isn’t quite the same. When we bought the ticket, it was specified that the guide would explain everything only in English, but for the price we paid, I would have expected better service—even though the guide, when only four of us remained to continue the tour of the terraces, very kindly explained things in both English and Italian.
