I visited with my mother at the end of October. The place is beautiful and special, and we got gorgeous photos with the view of Lisbon in the background. Please note: it's not recommended for wheelchair users—it is practically impossible to get around.

João was great. We did this tour as our first experience in Lisbon. Was a great primer of the history of the city. João did a great job immersing us into what it would have been like to conquer the castle and the challenges. Was a great way to understand the features of the castle. Tickets booked in advance on Headout. Be aware though, admission is free for children under 12, but they still need a ticket! The front desk on site gave us one. We visited around 9:30 AM, there were very few people, it was ideal! Beautiful views of Lisbon and a lovely place to stroll through the garden and along the ramparts.

Had a great time and enjoyed the castle. Was easy to order. If I had a criticism it took about an hour for the tickets to come through from the time we ordered them, our group felt that was a bit long for an online order. Usually tickets are immediately sent when ordered on line. Otherwise was a good experience.

No waiting in line, beautiful view of the entire city :) You can explore the whole castle and all of its towers. Unfortunately, the museum was closed due to renovations.
