Just a 5-minute walk from the Schönbrunn U-Bahn (U4) station, it offers full wheelchair accessibility with wide, step-free paths and ramps. Here you’ll find the ticket counters, security checks, and the main visitor information desk, making it the ideal starting point for your visit.
Orangery entrance
Situated on the eastern side of the palace complex, near the Schönbrunn Orangery, this entrance is ideal for guests attending evening concerts or arriving by tour bus. It is also wheelchair accessible, with level access and proximity to the parking garage and drop-off area.
Gardens entrance (Hietzinger Tor)
Found at the western edge of the palace grounds, this entrance leads directly into the public gardens and is perfect for those coming from Hietzing or visiting the Palm House and Desert House. The gate is step-free and suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. It’s a popular access point for locals and families enjoying the park.
- Last entry to all attractions is permitted up to 45 minutes before closing.
- The Palace Park gates open at 6:30am year-round, with free entry during opening hours, which range from 5:30pm between November and February to 9pm from June to August.
- The Children’s Museum at Schönbrunn Palace is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
- Special attractions like the Privy Garden, the Orangery Garden, and the Maze are open from 9:30am to 5:30pm between April and June, until 6:30pm from July to August, and from 9:30am to 5:30pm between September and October.
A complimentary cloak room is available near the main entrance for coats and small items.
