The place is beautiful! I highly recommend visiting Quinta de la Regaleira. Quite a lot of hassle around the experience: getting there and back in overcrowded bus was a strain (the bus back takes a huge detour on roads not designed for large buses and that can't easily cross with trafic going the other way, windy roads and driver not considerate of people standing). Entry time: we were one hour early and they wouldn't let us in earlier, so we ended up having to hang around and there is no cafe near the entrance! Lots and lots lf walking, was not prepared for this, no map was given at the entrance. In short, the place is beautiful, but the people managing the visitors experience have a lot of improvements to make!

The Quinta da Regaleira is no ordinary palace, but a journey into a world full of myths and secrets. Between the enchanted paths, the grottos and the famous initiation fountain, you can sense that this place is more than just architecture - it is symbolism cast in stone and nature. The neo-Gothic manor house sits enthroned like a fairytale castle, while the gardens with hidden lakes, secret tunnels and exotic plants invite you to explore. If you take your time, it is easy to get lost in the labyrinth of paths and imagination. A visit here is not just an excursion, but an experience that will stay with you for a long time.

Went September 19th a Friday crowds not bad here as it's such a large area with timed entry it allows people to spread out. Lots to see. Enjoyed the well and the grotto exit. We founf a quiet bench under the trees to eat the boxed chicken salad we brought with us from the grocery store that morning. My wife and I liked it more than Pena palace because of the variety of things to see and not being in a continuous line of people. We thought the Moorish castle was pretty neat as well.

A beautiful, clean and well-organized place with lots of trees and lots of information. An excellent place to spend a pleasant afternoon. Scheduling works very well, as there is a controlled number of people inside.

A very nice place with beautiful places. I noticed a lack of information to take the right way to see everything.

Loved the sights, obviously. Did not, however, love the fact that I bought entry for 14.30 and so it even says in the ticket email, but on the actual ticket it suddenly says entry 15.00. According to the person checking the tickets, this is done a lot. I saw others as perplexed as I was about this. I was visiting with two young children who had had already a full day of walking sintra behind them by then, so standing around there for half an hour did not help and was definitely not nice. Also, I understand there are a lot of people, but getting constantly yelled at to keep moving is not encouraging. I have paid a considerable amount of money to see the sights but at the well you could not stand still for a second without getting yelled at from the top. Obviously I'd like to take a photo, but apparently that's too much to ask. Felt like I was cattle that was herded.

The place is spectacular. And we ate very well in an Italian restaurant nearby: falto da claudio coelho, everything was very good and reasonably priced.
