Visiting the Pena Castle and gardens and the Quinta do Regaleira was a highlight in our Lisbon trip. The forests and parks of Sintra with their great diversity of trees and plants offer great pleasure for lovers of nature. Combined with the historical input of the Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle, the delicous shops, restaurants and pastry shops downtown and the Romantic gardens of Quinta with their fountains, labyrinth, warwrfalls and caves offer a perfect one day getaway from Lisobon. The trafic in the town is very heavy with buses, tuka tuka, cars, cyclists and pedestrians all going around the narrow streets up and a parking spot is also not very easy to find. Having bought tickets in advance saved us time and having to wait in line.

Visiting Quinta da Regaleira was one of the best experiences of our trip. Every path, garden, and building seems to hold a story. The Initiation Well is even more impressive in person, and the atmosphere has a mysterious, magical quality that invites you to explore at your own pace. It’s a well-maintained place, full of details, and perfect for anyone who enjoys history, architecture, and nature. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone visiting Sintra.

Such an amazing trip ! A truly magical palace with the most beautiful grounds. Our guide Francisco was so knowledgeable and interesting, and a must. He told us about the symbolism hidden within the gardens and took us to the initiation well which was fascinating. Highly recommend but wear comfy flat shoes as the ground is uneven and steep in places !

The purchasing process was great, and the audio guide was quite well put together, organized by the different areas to visit at Quinta do Regaleira, with plenty of useful information—and best of all, it’s available on your phone. The only downside is that I was the only one who could listen to it. My companion didn’t have an iPhone—they had an Android—and it doesn’t work on Android. Other than that, it was perfect.

We loved everything—the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings. What a wonderful place!!! The buildings are of exceptional artistic quality, featuring sculptures, doors, frescoes, and marquetry. They had a team of true artisans and artists to create this dream in the midst of an area with magnificent vegetation!!! The staff was very friendly. And everything was well-maintained and clean. I 100% recommend visiting.

Such a gorgeous and mystical place to wander and explore. The initiation well and the caves were the kids favorite. The grounds and detail were spectacular. We had an audio tour with our tickets but didn't see specifics on how to get that so unfortunately, we missed out on that. Next time, I would opt for a guide.

Our experience was wonderful. The guide was there before the scheduled time, was very attentive, and gave great tips. The place is spectacular—an incredible garden and the Initiation Site with its tunnels is a beautiful work of art. The castle is charming. The tour isn’t long and is very close to the center of Sintra. I highly recommend it!
