We visited Quinta da Regaleira, one of the famed palaces in Sintra, Portugal. The gardens surrounding the palace are magnificent, a labyrinth of paths that lead to the properties numerous attractions. The architecture embodies several classical styles. The most prominent being gothic with numerous turrets and gargoyles. The initiation well was the highlight of the tour - an 27 meter deep inverted tower with historical ties to the Freemasons and the Knights Templar. The signage at the facility should be better marked for guests, it may be a good idea to review property maps online. Certainly worth the visit!

Our guide communicated with us on What's App the day before, indicating time and meeting place. He also messaged in the morning an hour before letting us know he was on his way and asked us to let him know if we had any difficulties finding our meeting spot. He arrived promptly if not a bit early with a small group of people that we joined. Loved the small group as it was easy to hear our guide's vast amount of knowledge about Quinta da Regaleira. Loved the effective communication, timeliness, friendliness and knowledge! All in all a great experience! So sorry that I have forgotten his name!

It was such a beautiful castle and felt like such a fairytale experience. The timed entries made for a really easy and relaxed entrance into the castle (despite our entry slot being fully booked) and the only place in the castle with queues was when waiting for the Initiation Well, but even that moved quickly (although they do hurry you along to keep the line moving so not heaps of time for photos). We spent about 2 hours exploring the grounds and it was the perfect amount of time to touch all the highlights and make it back into town for some lunch. Can't wait to return!!

Beautiful, well-kept grounds with clear signage that made it easy to explore without getting lost. I do wish we had been given a heads-up about the steep walk up. The initiation well line looked long at first, but it moved quickly. We booked a tour, but our guide moved a bit too fast and we ended up losing them; fortunately, the grounds are so well maintained that wandering on our own was still a lovely experience.

Hello everyone A must-see place to visit 😍😍 Magnificent gardens with lush, well-tended vegetation. And what can I say about the architecture, except that the craftsmen were real magicians, so splendid is it between the colors of the stones used and the forms of Moresque, Christian style... A real feast for the eyes 😍

My second time in Sintra and I came back to Quinta da Regaliera specifically as it's just mesmerizing! Did Uli know they filmedHarry Potter in the forest nearby? If you didn't know, now you do - definitely worth getting lost in it and look for unicorns or other magical creatures. On Sundays they also give free classic music concerts, just check it out on their website

We went at 2 in the afternoon, it was perfect, as it is a spacious place you can hardly feel it. The line for the initiation well was long but very fast, and totally worth it. A mix of everything, shafts, murals, towers, vegetation, castle and secret tunnels. It was my favorite. It even has amenities like a cafeteria and restrooms. Not to be missed.

Buying tickets to Quinta da Regaleira was straightforward on headout. We went on Saturday for 3:30pm and it was not crowded. There was a line for the Initiation Well but it only took us 5 minutes to get to the top of the line. The grounds were beautiful and it took us roughly 1.5hrs to leisurely stroll and admire the views and architecture.
