Beautiful, well-kept grounds with clear signage that made it easy to explore without getting lost. I do wish we had been given a heads-up about the steep walk up. The initiation well line looked long at first, but it moved quickly. We booked a tour, but our guide moved a bit too fast and we ended up losing them; fortunately, the grounds are so well maintained that wandering on our own was still a lovely experience.

It was nice experience, make sure you buy your tickets in advance as its very crowded. What i didnt liked at the initiation well, lady from the staff hurried everyone to move further , we spend like 1minute to go downstairs, didnt even had time to take a photo. I understand is very crowded and some ppl spend hours at photos, but to hurry everyone like we almost sliped ln the stairs is not the approach.

Its gardens are fairytale. Essential visit if you go to Sintra and if you go with children hallucinate. The garden is straight out of a fairy tale where there are a thousand places to admire and we are sure that we missed some despite being three hours. The palace was a disappointment to visit inside, you can only see one floor. Years ago you could visit the entire palace and it was incredible.
