Of all the places in Seville, this was one of the most atmospheric. Not a huge palace where you find yourself checking your watch after twenty minutes, but a place where you’re happy to linger and simply wander through at your own pace. Beautiful courtyards, many lovely details, and at the same time that sense of history and lived life. I was particularly impressed by the photographs of the Duchess: not stiff or staged like in a museum, but lively, stylish, and full of personality. It is precisely through these images that the house feels completely different—like a place where people truly lived, loved, welcomed guests, and made history. The audio guide was very well designed: enough background to put everything into context, but without being overloaded with facts and figures. At some point, I stopped taking pictures and just looked. In the end, I didn’t feel like I’d just seen another tourist attraction, but rather that I’d gotten a little closer to Seville. For me, it’s definitely one of the most impressive places in the city.

I visited the Palacio de las Dueñas today and had such a great experience. First of all, there was no line to enter, which made the visit smooth and pleasant right from the start. The palace itself is absolutely beautiful — from its elegant architecture and peaceful patios to the vibrant tiles and lush gardens, everything feels both refined and full of charm. Beyond the visual beauty, the history behind the palace is truly fascinating, adding depth and meaning to every room and courtyard you walk through. Overall, it’s a place that combines art, history, and serenity effortlessly. I definitely recommend a visit!

A wonderful experience—visiting Las Dueñas is like taking a journey through Seville’s past and present. The Duchess of Alba guided us on a tour of her home, thanks to the opportunity presented by an exhibition marking her centennial. Her passion for Seville was evident in every detail, in every corner. Thank you to Headout for making this possible.

Even with an e-ticket, we still have to go through the ticket office, which wastes time when there's a line. The gardens are beautiful. The history is interesting, but the palace... what a sight! The colors, the blend of Eastern and Western styles—with the sun shining on it—it's simply sublime.

Quiet, peaceful and oozing so much charm. The details from floor to ceiling, stunning. My husband and I have travelled all over the world and this is the sort of detail we love. Thank you

  • When in Seville, a visit to the gorgeous 15th-century Las Dueñas Palace is a must. It was the favorite home of the late Duchess de Alba and its architectural styles range from the Gothic-Mudejar era to the Renaissance period. Stroll through the palace's majestic rooms and courtyards and admire the gardens and patios. Inside, there is a diverse collection of artworks including paintings and sculptures. The pieces currently on display were curated to reflect how the palace would have looked when it was lived in. You can find mementos here that once belonged to Eugenia de Montijo, the wife of Napoleon III.

Put on your audio guide and discover the fascinating history of the palace as well as the famous people and families that once lived here. Don't miss out on seeing the plaque that commemorates the famous Spanish poet Antonio Machado, who was born here in 1875.
