The Pena Palace experience itself was amazing, but also ruined by the double pay for the tickets. We bought these park tickets by mistake . As we thought our time was short, we focused on visiting the palace itself, and we decided to skip the park. However, the platform does not allow editing of the ticket, even after a second of purchase. No no upgrade permittedted. Only new tickets. This sounded very unfair for us and we are sure this does not suit no one among the visiters. For Park Tickets add an upgrade option for PALACE or even for the all SINTRA PARK. That would be of grate help. Im not considering the refund options, but at least the upgrade has to be considered, if you mind the satisfaction of your visitors. We loved visiting these two monuments. We preferred the outside of the Pena Palace to the inside. La Quinta is really beautiful, and the trails are pleasant in sunny weather. Wear comfortable shoes, as you'll be doing a lot of walking! Be careful with the tickets for the palace... in the booking it was mentioned that the QRcode was not the final ticket, that you had to exchange it at a certain address to get the real entrance ticket. We arrived early but couldn't find the office at the location indicated. We were worried and lost time. We tried to enter the park with the QRcode and it finally went through... this info should be corrected so we don't go through all that trouble for nothing 😉

I know I heard from some that Pena Palace is a little "overrated" but I couldn't disagree more. Sure, it isn't as old as some of Portugals other landmarks and castles. But, the experience I had exploring and especially on top of the big balcony (which you just buy these tickets to enter the interior and therefore also the grand balcony) was a spiritual experience that almost brought tears to my eyes because of how amazing the view was from up top. A special place, which amazing views and amazing architecture. Also, fascinating was the valuables, personal items, and rooms staged from the times of the Kings who called this palace their home. Absolute must for any history buff.

The Pena Palace is a very beautiful place that transports you to antiquity, if you are a lover of antiques, history and photography, do not hesitate to take this tour. If you are staying in the center of Sintra and you are with family, taking uber is the best option in terms of cost and speed. We had the opportunity to visit in autumn, and it is definitely the best time. There are not so many people and there are not so many lines. I recommend you to bring water, shoes and comfortable clothes. Bring your camera or cell phone, because every place is magnificent to take your pictures. Buying the tickets with headout was easy and fast, when you get to the entrance they just scan the code and you don't need to have internet, also, it includes an audio where they explain you while you go through the palace. We really enjoyed the experience, and we loved the wonderful views from the palace of sorrow. Go more or less two hours in advance so you can be at ease. Keep in mind to put your backpacks and valuables in front of your body. ♥️

This was such a great experience! The palace has been well maintained and the staff moved visitors through the site in such a thoughtful way. We went in December and there were hardly any crowds. We didn't realize we had paid for the transfer up the hill from the bus so we ended up buying tickets again. Other than that, it was a really lovely experience all around.

The website was confusing and as a result I mistakenly only bought a park entry and not a castle entry. Only discovered this when I went to enter castle. Situation could not be corrected at castle entry only the main entry - which meant I had to make the long treck back to gate and then up the long flight UP back to the castle.

Loved seeing Pena Palace. Was not sure whether to pay the extra to see the interior as we heard that most just like seeing the exterior. BUT we did choose to pay the extra and very glad we did!! Really enjoyed viewing the rooms, furniture and general decor of the castle. If you are all the way there, we recommend it.

The convenience of having tickets bought before made it easier to go the sites. However , when we got to Quinta de Regaleira- the tickets or cheaper than what we bought online. By more than $2.5 euros. Very disappointed.
