Tickets to Vesuvius—that's it. Good price with a coupon; otherwise, try buying them on the official website. Now, as for the ticket delivery service… well, it worked, but the fact that they send you the tickets half an hour before your entry via four screenshots on WhatsApp isn’t exactly the most professional or appropriate way to do it, because you might not see them. The tickets were supposed to be through the HeadOut app, but they turned out to be just “placeholders”; the valid ones were the ones sent via WhatsApp. They should review this process to make it more professional and automated. I imagine they do it this way because, even though you can cancel them a day in advance, they keep them on file without issuing them and avoid the cost of the official ticket, and if they’re canceled, they “earn” 100% of the amount through Headout—but come on…

The experience was wonderful but the bus was late in getting to the meeting point. We were asked to arrive 20min early in the blazing heat, and having the bus get there by at least the starting time would have been great. Besides that, no issues. Everything was organized and the experience of entering the hiking area and the transport were great.

It was a bit of a hassle getting my tickets for Mount Vesuvius because no one showed up at the meeting spot, luckily I asked a Headout minibus driver who was a huge help—he called his colleagues, and everything worked out, and I was finally able to see that monster, Vesuvius!!! 😉

Accessibility

This experience is not accessible by wheelchair and pram/strollers.

Due to the steep gradient and the characteristics of the trail, climbing to the crater is not recommended for individuals with complex health conditions, including respiratory or cardiovascular issues.

The hike is suitable for everyone (hiking difficulty: E or easy) and requires no special trekking preparation.

Children are allowed on the hike with adult supervision.
