The monastery itself is beautiful, but personally, compared to other places I've visited, I didn't like it as much—I found it monotonous, with the same thing over and over again. However, anyone who enjoys visiting these kinds of places will come away with a good impression.

We noticed how crowded the tours were, but the time slot we chose (11:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) allowed us to get in without waiting. Despite the construction work outside, the interior of the monastery and the church are still impressive. This was our second visit, and we’re still drawn to this Lisbon landmark and its peaceful atmosphere. Buying tickets in advance on the website is a real plus.

I was at the monastery with my mother, who uses a wheelchair. We felt so special! They gave us their full support and attention—we’ve never been treated with such care before. And of course, the monastery is beautiful! It’s definitely worth a visit!

Buying the ticket was easy and efficient. The instructions on where to go to enter or clear and concise. The monastery is is huge, an overwhelming when you first see it. The carvings and details in each corridor and rooms is exquisite. I highly recommend going to this monastery!

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: Please note that off-shoulder tops, dresses, and knee-high shorts are not recommended.

Keep in mind that food & beverages and large bags or backpacks are not allowed on this experience.

Visitors are not allowed to take photographs in some parts of the monastery.

The lower level has wheelchair access, though some sections are cobblestoned.

The Jerónimos Monastery remains closed on Monday, January 1, Easter Sunday, May 1, and December 25.

The Monastery is closed between 9:30am and 1pm on October 24th and December 5th.
