I attended an evening performance with my 10-year-old daughter, and it was truly an unforgettable experience for both of us. As my daughter only understands French and Japanese, and had no prior knowledge of the original story, I was initially concerned that she might lose interest. However, those worries quickly disappeared once the show began. Even without understanding the English dialogue, she was completely captivated until the very end. The stage design, the music, the outstanding vocal performances, and the dynamic pacing of the production were all mesmerising. The sheer power and artistry on display made it easy to follow the emotion and story purely through the performance itself. For me, and especially for my daughter, it was a rare and precious experience that will stay with us for a long time. I can only express my deepest gratitude to everyone involved in bringing such a remarkable production to life. Thank you for creating something so extraordinary.

This was my first time seeing the show. It was magical, and despite being sleep deprived and thinking I wouldn't make it, I just had to stay. They were too phenomenal not to. I am glad I did and desperately want to watch it again hopefully with the same cast, as...they brought it to life in a way that I think the screen even doesn't capture. I didn't realize I loved the set design so much, and the costumes. But it was such an amazing experience. Everyone was wonderful.

The show was really great. I was sitting way up high, but I could still make out a lot of the details of the set. The actors' voices are stunning, and even as a non-native speaker, you can understand a lot of the dialogue.

An unforgettable show! Wicked impressed with incredible acting, vibrant staging, and a captivating story. Truly one of the best theatre experiences in London.
    • Based on Gregory Maguire’s bestselling novel, Wicked reimagines Oz before Dorothy, perfect for families, friends, and anyone who loves a spellbinding musical.

    • A multi-award winner with 3 Tonys, 2 Oliviers, and a Grammy, Wicked has thrilled over 13 million audiences across 7,000 shows.

    • Friendship, identity, and prejudice power this story, staged with dazzling sets, lush costumes, and iconic songs like "Defying Gravity" and "Popular".

    • Playing at the Apollo Victoria Theatre since 2006, this West End staple continues to receive glowing praise. Book your tickets to the Wicked musical in London now!

    • Fun fact: In April 2010, "Defying Gravity" was used as a wake-up call for astronauts aboard NASA’s space shuttle mission STS-131. Astronauts’ families often pick wake-up songs, and this one was chosen to inspire the crew on day 10 of the mission.

    The story

Before ruby slippers and yellow brick roads, two witches crossed paths in Oz, the blonde, beloved Glinda and the green-skinned outcast Elphaba. What begins as rivalry at Shiz University slowly becomes a powerful friendship, tested by politics, magic, and questions of morality. As loyalties shift and truths unravel, destiny pulls them toward roles history will never forget. But who truly decides who’s good and who’s wicked?

    Critics reviews

    “Wicked won me over completely.”

    – IndieLondon

“This is a show that taps into a genuine public appetite for spectacle, art and heart, and this demanding, commanding musical provides it in spades.”

Honestly, it’s an experience worth having—from the welcome before the show to the “lobby” (merch shop, snacks, drinks…), and the atmosphere, which in this case was a dark green theme to reference the film. The intermission, where you can recharge in the lobby, the layout of the theater, the sets, the costumes, and the music performed by the orchestra. The only downside is that I found the musical a bit long, and by the end I wasn’t really into it anymore.

Great actors, wonderful music and impressive voices. I went with my 11 year old and we both loved it. A very nice mum daughter memory ! And very clear English with no strong accent so easy to follow for people like us where English is not pur first language. The photo is from before it begins since we were not supposed to film the actors. We were quite far but we had great visibility !
