The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - The Musical

Benjamin Button ages backward in a charming Cornish village, with live music and a touching story. Don't miss this award-winning musical's West End debut.

Theater name: The Ambassadors Theatre

Awarded Best Musical Production at the 2024 Off West End Awards, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button isn't your typical musical. Lauded by WhatsOnStage and Broadway World with 5-star reviews, the musical is based on an original story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Jethro Compton (Wolf's Blood, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance) writes and directs, with music from award-winning Darren Clark (These Trees Are Made of Blood, Day of the Living). Clark’s music features lively Celtic folk melodies, perfectly complementing the fantastical elements of the show.

The story

Born with the physical appearance of an old man in a charming Cornish fishing village, Benjamin Button defies the natural order of aging. As the years progress, he inexplicably grows younger by the day. This peculiar condition isolates Benjamin, yearning for connection in a world that perceives him differently. Can he forge a meaningful life as he journeys backward through time? Book tickets for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button musical to find out!

The theater was intimate and the staff was attentive! The artists were playing instruments, singing, and dancing it was beautifully done. My children read this original short story for school this year and they loved comparing how they adapted it to make this musical. The atmosphere in the theater was wonderful. I absolutely recommend the experience anyone looking to see a show in London. I took my 10, 12, and 15 year old boys along with their grandparents. Everyone enjoyed the show!
