Directed by Jordan Fein and winner of the Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival, Into the Woods reimagines beloved fairytale characters in a witty, thrilling, and magical adventure that explores what happens after wishes come true and happily ever after begins.

    • Olivier award-winning Best Musical Revival, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s “stunning” (The Times) Into The Woods transfers to the West End.

    • Directed by Jordan Fein (Fiddler on the Roof), with set and costume designed by Tom Scutt (Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club), this new production has been hailed as “a triumphant musical mash-up of fairytales” (The Standard).

    • Kate Fleetwood returns to the production to reprise her celebrated performance as the Witch.

    • Open a fantasy door Into the Woods, an enchanting world where fairytales collide with the darker side of ‘happily ever after.’

    • Into the Woods masterfully weaves together the stories of iconic characters such as the Baker and his Wife, Cinderella, Jack (of beanstalk fame), Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel.

    • With its intricate score and clever lyrics, it is one of Stephen Sondheim’s most celebrated musicals, blending comedy, tragedy, and fantasy in a way that few shows can.

    • With magical staging, atmospheric lighting, and an immersive forest setting, this production will transport audiences into a world both whimsical and haunting. Book your Into the Woods London tickets now!

    The story

A baker and his wife, a cursed witch, a girl in a red cloak, a boy with a cow, a servant dreaming of a better life, and a maiden trapped in a tower all venture into the woods in pursuit of their wishes. As their journeys intertwine, magical adventures unfold—beanstalks soar into the sky, spells are broken, and unexpected friendships are formed. But when dreams come true, the characters discover that life after "happily ever after" can be just as challenging, surprising, and magical as the quest itself.

I am not usually one for musicals , but this truly changed my mind! I bought my dear friend for her birthday and was massively dreading it to be completely honest ... But after watching this , i have been proved wrong! The set was absolutely mind blowing , all the actors had the most amazing voices and it was something i'd highly recommend to anybody. It was a great mix of captivating but also hilarious ! Would even say i'd go watch it again.... as someone who claims to hate theatre and musicals 😂😂

I didn't know anything about into the woods other than my wife said it was based on fairytales. We had seats on the front row and it was just non-stop action from beginning to end. The cast are so professional and incredible performers. The theatre is probably one of the best I've ever been to. No queueing for drinks really well organised and the toilets were not rammed at the interval. Really enjoyable evening and would highly recommend both the show and the theatre for the future.

Great show and so refreshing to have lyrics that hit you with their wit and that carry meaning. Beautifully constructed masterpiece and fun too. The audio for the giant it's too loud and some of the singing is a little wide of the mark but The whole auditorium seems to love the combination of the serious & moving and the slightly dumbed down / hammed up, humour. A fantastic night out.

This performance was unforgettable due to the fact that I was able to see a college friend perform that I haven't seen in 30 years! She was great!
