Getting started

On the day of your visit, use your pre-booked ticket to enter Alton Towers Resort and head into the Theme Park, which is open until 9pm. Your chosen option gives you either early or late timeslot entry for the Thrills mazes, so plan your route around the park to reach your first maze in time. Children under 90cm go free to the Theme Park, so factor in any family members who will not need a ticket.

What to expect

Alton Towers Scarefest transforms the whole Theme Park into a Halloween event for the day and evening. You can move between hair-raising mazes and rides at your own pace, using your selected Thrills timeslot as the anchor for your schedule.

COMPOUND and Edge of the Forest: Complete your three-maze lineup with single-use entry to COMPOUND and Edge of the Forest.

Timed maze entry: Your selected early or late timeslot determines when you can enter the Thrills mazes, helping you organise your Scarefest evening.

Free entry for under-90cm guests: Children under 90cm enter the Theme Park free, allowing families to bring younger children along for suitable attractions.

What to bring

Photo ID: Keep a valid photo ID with the same name as your booking available for entry checks.

What’s not allowed

Costumes: Halloween costumes are welcome, but full-face coverings and imitation weapons are prohibited.

Ride safety: Choose costumes that keep your vision clear and do not create a safety risk on rides.

Outside food: Food and drinks from outside are not permitted, apart from baby food and items required for special diets.

Pets: Only registered assistance animals are permitted inside the park.

Alcohol and drugs: Bringing alcohol or drugs onto the premises, or entering while intoxicated, is strictly prohibited.

Large luggage: Suitcases, oversized bags, and other bulky luggage cannot be brought into the park.

Smoking areas: Cigarettes and e-cigarettes may only be used within designated smoking areas.

Accessibility

Guest support: Accessibility provisions include the Ride Access Pass, mobility equipment hire, and dedicated sensory spaces.

Companion entry: Eligible guests can receive a complimentary companion ticket when they provide the required proof.

Step-free access: Accessible toilets and step-free routes are available across the park, with trained staff on hand to provide assistance.

Additional information

Child entry: Children measuring under 90 cm can enter free of charge, with height checked at the entrance.

Thrills maze age: Final Exhibit, Edge of the Forest, Altonville Mine Tours, and COMPOUND are recommended for guests aged 12 and above.

Spooks attractions age: Trick O' Treat Town and Amigos in the Afterlife are recommended for children aged 6 and above.

Ghost tour age: Guests must be at least 12 years old to join The Alton Towers Ghost Tours and Final Exhibit Behind the Scenes.

Limited dates: Certain experiences operate only on selected dates, so check availability when planning your visit.

Maze timeslots: Your selected ticket determines whether you receive an early or late entry timeslot for the Thrills mazes.
